NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

You got a sweep at home against a travel-weary opponent, with the help of some home cooking from the refs. Congrats.

How much longer will the retarded gloating last?

Maine took it to the Sioux both nights. How long will the retarded excuse making last?

Seriously, two good teams played each other over the last two nights and Maine earned the wins both nights. That was a big weekend against a very good team, should we not be happy?

I'm glad most UND fans win or lose with class.

Tell it to the Maine fans that can't even win with a little grace, they have to make up **** about UND being a bunch of goons because they finished a couple checks here and there.

I'm not happy when a team sees that they are down 1-0 in the last minutes of the 2nd period and they decide to start diving to improve their fortunes.

Nothing wrong with finishing ur checks. But with the new emphasis on protecting guys heads, elbows up aint cutting it. I'll give the Sue a pass on this one once...they were frustrated...it happens. Seen it a million times, but it aint the way to win on the road.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Well Maine showed some grit tonight coming back from being one down and looking pretty sluggish to score 4 goals and win. Diamond is like a smaller-little slower version of gionta in his sophmore year. Dimmen looked slow all night and O'neill was overhandling the puck, Van Dyke has to pull the trigger quicker from the point. Sullivan is gaining confidence, wanted to see Anthoine score after his hustle last night. Timmay(sting) actually talked to uncle benny once and called a time-out. Is there hope for timmay yet.....Nope:eek::D...Best series i've seenoutof Maine in a long while and they were still not sold out. it shows how far the program has slipped in the past 4-5years.

Oh, come on, loosen up, give Tim a little more credit. :D Finish telling the rest of the time out call by saying that Maine scored after that time out. It was a 5 on 3 and Maine has had problems with that situation for a couple of years. Finally, came through.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

All this back and forth about the refs, finishing checks, who is a good loser and a good winner is just plain dumb. Let's come back to reality, I'm a Sioux fan and like most of us was frustrated watching the games this weekend. Friday night's game was a debacle. Maine came ready to play and North Dakota didn't. That was just a good old fashioned butt kicking and as the game went along the Sioux kept parading to the penalty box because of their frustration. Bad play all around by UND and Maine played very well. Saturday's game was better. Both teams played decently but Maine made their chances count. I thought both goalies played well. I thought North Dakota looked better but still not up to the level I expected. Not sure if it was 6 straight road games or if Maine took some things away from them. Good sweep by Maine and their fans can crow all they want. They deserve it. Bad series for North Dakota and the worst part is the schedule doesn't get any better with series against Denver, Duluth, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, and St Cloud up next. Luckily 4 of these are at home. I guess we'll see how good they are shortly. So good job Maine and I hope UND learned something from these games.

The excuses never end.

Even one of your own (and also the Maine announcers) called it a dive as well:

In regards to the Dimmen "trip"... I didn't have a great look at it from the balcony but it did seem to be a fairly clear dive, which is disappointing because we're not that type of team, not sure what happened that time. Its almost too bad we scored on that pp.... almost:p

;)

Not that I'm using that as an excuse why we got swept. Friday night we would have lost either way. Saturday night could have been won by either team, but UND kicked themselves in the foot too many times with their endless trips to the box. You're not going to win many games playing that way, especially in a hostile road environment against a talented team.

To be fair, Maine did have three or four 5x3 chances over the weekend, they were bound to score on one eventually! :D

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Another tard from Miami.
Just the kind of response one would expect from a Sioux fan.

You've been around since the dynasty started all those years ago?
:)
Who said anything about Miami being a dynasty? I know the rest of the college hockey world views Miami as the little team that couldn't, but you have to admit they've built a pretty solid program over the last 10-11 years.

Back of topic. I only got to see the Friday night game. Wanted to see how good ND really was. Gotta say at first I thought UMaine was playing on adreneline or something but as the game ticked on I could see they were for real. Then came the Saturday score and made a believer out of me.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Does Maine have a trip to UND in the next couple years ?
or
Does the past weekend complete a cycle of the two visiting each other ?

Am curious

I'll admit that. Miami is definitely a strong team that has been in the hunt for the title the last few years...and appears to be as well this year. I would be surprised if they don't make it to St Paul.

As for the dynasty comment, I take it you haven't seen the article? :D

Maine comes to the Ralph next season for a series...

Good teams don't lose a game because of one dive. I didn't really notice it until after Dimmen was on the ice so I won't comment on whether or not it was a dive. I have it on the DVR so I'll comment after I see it.

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

You are the one who hates an entire program because one Sioux fan hurt your feelings. What are we supposed to do? Care and beg you to like us?

Yup. At least it started with one. And don't beg, doesn't fit in with the Fighting Sioux image of looking down the bridge of you noses at others.:D

Re: NoDak @ Maine Oct 22 / 23

Maine will go to North Dakota for a weekend series next fall.

It will be interesting to see if the WCHA officials call that game as bad as the two buffoons that officiated this weekend's series. They made Shegos, Don Adam, Todd Anderson and Shepherd look like a decent officials.
