NMU 2009-2010 Season

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

NMU vs. St. Cloud Friday in St. Paul.

If anyone has ticket/bus info from NMU please post it here.

I assume NMU will get a block of tickets to sell?

Congrats to Walt and the Wildcats on first NCAA Tourney bid since 1999! Go Cats Go! Beat the St. Cloud Huskies and your old buddy and old NMU assistant Mike Gibbons! St. Paul holds a special place in my heart as this is where I witnessed the Cats win 1991 NCAA Championship! Go Cats! Make Us Proud!!

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

Pumped about the regional being in St. Paul, that means a 15 minute drive for me from Minneapolis, tickets suck at 50 dollars a seat for each game, but I think we have a group of five going this weekend. SCSU will have a good crowd with it being like an hour and a half away, but I know that NMU travels well and look forward to dominating the Energy Center on Friday!

That's actually a decent price to see an NCAA Regional game.

You can save a few bucks by picking up the two day ticket package... It's $94 before "convenience" fees and such...

From the NCAA:

"The minimum ticket price for an all-session ticket at any of the four regional sites is $75. The maximum regional all-session ticket price is $90. Each regional site is required to sell all tickets as a package until the day after selections (March 22). If a site is not sold out at this point, it may break the packages and sell single-session tickets at a price increase of up to $10 per session."

The host site needs to make some money out of this thing.

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

Don't you dare lose. It's not a streak that you want to be remembered for ending.

+elevntybillion.

They are Huskies. Should be easy to remind you of some school that you have to share the UP with.

GO CATS!!!!!

(and I'll root for you all the way, except for one match up- even if most of you hate my team. ;) )

And they, like us, lost to those other Huskies you speak of.
And you seem like a good guy, even if you have terrible choice in teams. ;)

Anyone going to the games this weekend, I recommend going over to Minneapolis to Gasthof's. A bit of a haul from the Xcel, but it's a great German style restaurant with a bar/beergarden in the bottom. Great times were had there this weekend. If you want to eat, call ahead for reservations. And, if you're just going to the bar be sure to have cash because it's a $30 minimum tab for cards, IIRC.

Everything I've been seeing puts us out in Albany to face Cornell. Who ever said something about a partisan crowd is right, that's what I was told by someone from out in that area last night.
Eh, its the Joe, lot of Walmart Wolverines there. ;)

Amen to that. Just remember, the pressure is probably more on them on trying to end it than what it would be on NMU to continue it. They're not the ones out there skating with a 500 pound gorilla on their backs. ;)

That, or you just drink more and tip well. ;)

Yes, yes indeedy.

For prices, though:

1 litre of beer (it doesn't matter what kind, good stuff or cheap stuff) is $11.
1/2 litre is $6, I think.
A 2 litre Das Boot is $24, but you do have to put down a $40(?) deposit down, which you get back on return of Das Boot.

Polka until midnight, then it's normal club music.

Anyway, if anything, just don't lose to WI or SCSU. Please?

$40 isn't a bad price for a Das Boot.

Amazon has the 2 liter ones for $27, but add S&H on and it's pretty close I'd assume.

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

I would like to offer up my congrats to Walt, his assistants, the team and NMU community at large for this GREAT accomplishment. For those of us who have followed the team for many years and dearly remember making it to Madison in 1999 this is quite special. In the years after our last tourney berth expectations were raised and more than a couple very good NMU teams just missed out on the Big Dance. With this in mind I can't suppress the goosebumps and overall sense of accomplishment and thanks for all involved within our program. We should all be very proud!!!

I have been hardened at times even in my support because I dearly wished for this very day. Now that it is here I'm almost speechless and just want to soak it all in as I remember those who came up short and how good this must feel for them as well. **** it is good to be a Wildcat today!!! :D

Best of luck this coming weekend fellas and remember that St. Paul holds a special place in the hearts of many Wildcat faithful as it is the site of our greatest day in program history (1991 NCAA Championship). St. Paul used to be referred to as Lakeview West back in the glory days and I see reason it cannot become The Berry West as well.

I salute the 2009-10 NMU Hockey Team and hope that you will duplicate your efforts from Christmas break and once again return to Marquette this coming weekend with even more hardware!!! Go Cats Go!!!

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

Remember keep voting for Mark Olver for the Hobey Baker. Might as well get the most of the fans 1% vote.

Also if anyone is in the Lansing, MI area and wants to watch the NMU game on Friday at 5:30pm, I am organizing a viewing party at a local bar TBA (send an email to profoster@yahoo.com if your interested). I'll make sure everybody knows where and when. Details to follow in the next day or two, I'll also post it on here as well. But make sure to mark it on your calendar. We will be hooking up a feed from a laptop into a TV.

GO CATS!!!

Re: NMU 2009-2010 Season

Hmmm. First off great job to the NMU hockey players, coaches and staff on a wonderful season. As mentioned by Mojo, I was critical in the beginning, but nonetheless faithful and proud the team battled adversity and achieved an NCAA tourny bid.
It was nice to match some of screen names to the faces this weekend. Love the picture of all you guys outside the Joe! Safe travels for everyone going to St. Paul!!!

Go Cats Go!!!
