Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Nailed it.

Or maybe a better way to say it (although not nearly as catchy) is that Republicans and Tea Partiers give conservatism a bad name.

Jesus ****ing christ. You guys are pathetic.

This has nothing to do with politics. Have you ever been in an organization where saluting is required? There is a protocol when giving or returning a salute and holding something in the saluting hand is not part of that protocol.

The Commander in Chief should also not be touching military members during medal ceremonies. It's just not done.

When the President bestows military honors, including the Medal of Honor, he invariably can be seen patting up and down the arms of the recipients immediately after presenting the medal. It is unseemly for the Commander in Chief to pat a service member who is standing in rigid attention in full dress uniform. The nonverbal message may be ambiguous. Is it condescending? Distanciating? Meant, clumsily, to communicate solidarity? In any case, the President’s penchant for patting military heroes haptically communicates his refusal to understand and accept commanding authority. Patting is usually associated with offering comfort, which must be patronizing to a military hero. Also, it is non-consensual because a Medal of Honor recipient cannot respond.

I don't know, but that site's slogan is weirdly hilarious: "Ten years of thinking!"

Face it, our Dear Leader is clueless when it comes to military matters. I guess it comes with membership in The Party.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Nothing else to b*tch about? That means they need an Outrage of the Day. Seriously, everyone should know that by now.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

While it was disrespectful, I'm disappointed, but not "ALLTHERAGE!!!!!!"

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

But seriously, there are plenty of issues that "The One" can legitimately be criticized on, and this is the kind of gaffe that becomes the Internet story of the day?

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Who gives a ****. It's this kind of bull**** fake outrage that has the conservative parties the laughing stock of politics. It undermines the message and effort

While you guys are all whargarbling into the biggest megaphone you can find about the absolute dumbest **** I have ever seen, we just have to sit there with our faces buried in our hands embarrassed and absolutely dumbfounded trying to figure out how we're going to explain why you guys are drooling all over the table and eating your shirt. All the while we lose the chance to have an intelligent discussion with those of liberal persuasion and make some progress.

Edit: not directed at French rage.

Edit 2: well, his link doesn't work so maybe it is. I have no idea.

We moderate conservatives feel the same with the extremist liberals. Just sayin'.
