Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

FWIW, I do think Zimmerman should be in jail, on the lesser charge of manslaughter. The prosecutors were goaded into going for Murder 2, and they overreached.

This other guy, the evidence and witnesses were just not there to convict, and the case for jury nullification too obvious.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

I'm a parent of two. I love my kids with every ounce of my fiber and would do anything for them. To be honest I don't know how I'd react. It's quite possible I'd lose my sh#t and go after the guy. But I don't think we should so easily be able to argue without hesitation that the guy had absolutely zero choice in that moment to also take a life.

I don't believe that anyone is arguing that he should get away with it just because it may be justified on an eye for an eye basis.

When I said I wouldn't lose any sleep over the verdict - after Priceless indicted all of Texas due to the ruling  - I was simply saying that this particular "miscarriage of justice" seems more like Karma than anything that should be precedent setting.

Even so, had they found the weapon or had he confessed and been sent to prison, I wouldn't have lost any sleep over that outcome either. He did it. They proved it. He will face the consequences.

The man was acquitted by a jury. End of story from the legal side unless the drunk's family goes civil.

He will live the rest of his life second guessing the "if-onlys." If only he had had the car worked on. If only he had called a tow. If only he had turned around to see the car coming erratically. If only he had left the boys at home.

Not to mention, he has to live with the fact that he killed someone. Did that honor his sons?

This guy didn't get off. He will live the rest of his life in some level of suffering.

My need for a pound of flesh - such as it is - is satisfied in this particular case.

I didn't indict the whole state over this one ruling. There have been a few others. Besides, the governor of the state has said he wants to secede. I'm just inviting him to follow through on his threat/promise.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

You meant it as a compliment?

I simply meant it as a possible reason for him posting his tripe. Neither insult nor compliment. He took it as an insult, which leads me to believe that he thinks having a mental illness makes you less of a normal person. Why be insulted that one may or may not have a mental illness? Lots of people have them. It affects what they do every day. It's life.

Not quite. The braying "no justice, no peace" mob intimidated the governor into appointing Angela Cory as special prosecutor. And she returned an indictment that well known right winger Alan Dershowitz pronounced as mal practice. Please recall, the lead prosecution witness (the guy with the best view) described cherubic little Trayvon on top of Zimmerman, raining down blows "MMA style." With Zimmerman screaming for help. This was a prosecution witness, mind you. I fear a repeat in Ferguson, where the mob might influence the grand jury and then jurors in a criminal case.

Ah yes, pathological liar and renowned plagiarist Alan Dershowitz is obviously the end all be all here.

And the guy who said "MMA blows" last recanted and said "wrestling".

But please tell us more about how Trayvon was a "thug" (totally not a code word for something else obviously).

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

To this day the networks (and their cable JV squads) will only show photos of cherubic, pre-pubescent Trayvon. The shots of him throwing gang signs, with sparked out teeth and smoking dope are evidently deemed "too prejudicial." Here's a question: why was that punk even in George Zimmerman's neighborhood in the first place? Answer: he'd been kicked out of school for drugs and burglary tools and a backpack full of jewelry that wasn't his. Not capital crimes by any means. But that 6 foot 170 pound thug made a fatal mistake. He jumped a dude with a gun.

I've gotten over OJ. It's time for the ladies to get over Zimmerman.

Pio can tell a guy's guilty just by looking at him. Who needs due process?

Uh, Texas?

OTOH we elect candidates for public office because they look good.

At college people spread pollen just because they other looks good.

So maybe he's on to something.

Certainly not you (nor the rest of the chorale). Really, all you ladies have is high pitched squealing about "racism." And claims that anyone disagreeing with you is a "racist." Tawana, Duke, Jena, Kokomo etc. etc. There's always less to these situations than meets the eye. But that's never stopped the race pimps. And it won't stop you, either. George Zimmerman was acquitted, shouldn't that be the end of it? Not to Grievance Industry whores, for whom it's Forever Selma.

The guy who was entitled to the presumption of innocence was George Zimmerman, since he was charged with a (trumped up) crime. The innocent little boy wasn't charged with anything, thus presumption of innocence was never a factor.

Speaking of high pitched squealing, how's the Benghazi investigation going?

The cover up continues. Our beloved First Empty Suit made six cringing references to an "offensive video" in his speech before the UN. Needless to say, he knew, and had known right from the beginning that the video played no role whatsoever in what happened. This performance may convince you we should honor him by putting his portrait on the 4 dollar bill, but not me.

The anniversary of that cruel debacle is fast approaching. Wonder if Madame "what difference. . .does it make" is planning a public commemoration.

That sounds like a long way of saying, "nothing."

Nixon lived to be 81. If he was filled with hatred, it certainly didn't send him to an early grave. Many of his policies - opening up diplomatic relations with the eeeeevil Commies in China, creating the EPA (by executive order!!1!!1), enforcing desegregation of Southern schools, beginning the process of ending our involvement in Vietnam - would be viewed as RINO by today's conservatives.

He also mined the harbors of Hanoi and Haifong and sent the B-52s wingtip to wingtip over North Vietnam, which sent the gooks back to the peace table in Paris. Nixon's anti-communist bona fides were established beyond criticism, given his leading role in sending that commie traitor Alger Hiss to prison.
