Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Things like this are going to lead to the end of gym class...

In other news, I need more money... Who can I sue to get some? Any ideas?

95% chance the plaintiff and her lawyer get zippo and have to pay costs, but you rarely read about that. Even if they win, most states have limited immunity, so they would take home little. Probably an idiot lawyer who has not yet learned how to lose money practicing law.

And Tennessee just brought back the electric chair, just in case the good-night juice routine does not go according to plan.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Watching the final video of the UC Santa Barbara shooter is chilling. Especially his periodic demented laughter approving of his plans. Usually we don't get to look so clearly into the face of madness. Not to trivialize this horrific event, but I was reminded of James Earle Jones' line to Kevin Costner: "You're seeing a whole team of psychiatrists, aren't you?" And in this boy's case, he was.

His parents had called the police on him. There had been "welfare checks." Yet, somehow, despite professional intervention, he was able to post psychotic videos on You Tube, acquire multiple weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition and carry out his insane plan. All because, apparently, there was neither the will nor the way to get him off the street. What we know of him reminds me of the VTU shooter--utterly mad and hiding in plain sight.

And now we learn that he stabbed his three roommates to death before the shooting rampage, while the father of one victim is already blaming politicians and the NRA.

I have the utmost sympathy for him and the families of all of the victims of this twisted individual, but as my wife (also a former police officer) said, if he did not have access to guns he probably would have run down his victims with his BMW.

Funny then how mass murderers will go out of their way to collect guns when a car would be just as effective.

If not for the tragedy, I would've passed it off as a terrible Hannibal Lecter parody.

Jeebus. It's Petey the bird from Dumb and Dumber, but much, much less funny. :(

Nice to see Canadiens fans in postseason form in saying they're glad Marty St. Louis mom died. Classy.

Haven't seen the comments and don't care to, but I suspect they're no more fans than the Boston D-bags who gave it to PK

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Can't we all agree that all fanbases have a bunch of c*nty d-bags and Twitter has only given them a megaphone? Agreed? Ok, can we all go back to ignoring them now? :)

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Finished reading Elliot Rodger's manifesto.

Wow.

It went from easy-going to sad to depressing to extreme evil very quickly. I did feel bad for him, because some of the thoughts he had are ones that I feel almost all people have at points in their lives. Obviously not the ones about murdering and enslaving women, but others about loneliness, being accepted, getting experiences out of life. The problem is most people eventually move past those thoughts, but he obsessed over them, and because of his narcisicism, he always thought he was right. Any attempts anyone made to help him were dismissed because he felt jobs were beneath him, that his way of thinking was the only way of thinking, and he became deranged at the thought he was owed something because he was better than everyone else.
