Why not just admit you want the mob to kill this cop or at least burn his house down? There will be plenty of time after the mobs go on to other matters to release his name. But releasing it now would be so much more fun, right?

At least something good may come of this.

If there was ever an issue that fit the knucks' paranoid delusions, this is it. Hopefully this splits the GOP right down the middle between the libertarians and the racists. It should have no problem getting Dem support.

Disagree. Paul will sign it in a minute, it's his discriminator in the primaries. A lot of the types who hyperventilate about the black helicopters should be on board, too.

It's possible. He has certainly turned chicken at a few critical moments. But my theory is if he really wants to be president, the dingbat militarist card is already crowded, while the Perot / Buchanan "a republic not an empire" niche is wide open. That's a huge opportunity to make noise in the early primaries when there are a dozen clowns falling over themselves for 5-8 percent. Paul could stand out all alone, get riddled with bullets from the Echo Chamber, and still pull 15-20 percent and win the early primaries. To win the nomination he has to first get above his pygmy status, and that's one way.

If there are any genuine, principled "anti-statist" conservatives left in the party, they should be all over this. This is a sort of acid test to see whether that rhetoric was ever real or just their usual self-serving BS.

1. The mayor asked protesters to be respectful and to go home at night.
2. Police have asked citizens not to record their activities.
3. Police are deploying tear gas and rubber bullets against protesters.
4. Area law enforcement consistently arrest and search black people more frequently than whites.

This would be kind of special, though, since it's his signature issue. It would be like Romney giving a **** about the poor, or Ryan giving a **** about the elderly, or Cruz giving a **** about anybody.

His signature issue is running for President. He's been running like a bat out of hell from just about every other position he's taken. This one will be no different in the end.

An article I saw said the Ferguson area is 65% black, 35% white. Don't know if that's true or not, but if so, somewhat mutes his argument that blacks are twice as likely as whites to be stopped or arrested.

Not sure how this data was collected, but usually when people make statements like this the numbers are weighted for population. So, for example, if the sample has 70 blacks and 30 whites, blacks are "twice as likely" if the ratio is 14:3.

Everyone who posts here (except you) knows the difference between "requesting" that citizens limit their protesting to certain hours and attempting to prohibit those protests altogether. You and that putz from the WaPo deserve each other.

Yeah, but that was the problem with the blog article which was a terrible effort at commenting on alleged constitutional issues, bogus at best. No raw data or numbers.
