Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Psh...Alaska doesn't count. :D

I heard there was a little thing on the island of Oahu in Hawai'i, though. Must just have been a rumor.
That doesn't count though. Flaggy doesn't watch Josh Hartnett movies.

I really don't understand the reasoning behind the that people don't want to be in places where guns are allowed. Seems like a pretty stupid position to take IMO. I feel much safer in an area I know has people legally carrying.

How do you know they are "legally carrying" and not there to rob the place or the patrons?

Fortunately gun owners never have accidents that cause their firearms to go off, so thankfully that isn't an issue.

Why do most of the shooting epidemics take place in locations where firearms are supposedly banned? Why did the Japanese never try to attack on American soil in WWII? Even the perception that there could be weapons makes the idiots think twice before starting stuff.

This is silly, even by your standards.

Why did the Japanese never attack England?

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

You know, I stopped watching Fox News over a decade ago and since then, I've watched Charlie Rose, Face the Nation, CBS Evening News, Vice, and MSNBC for my news.

But tonight I'm close to dumping MSNBC. Their coverage of the Ferguson fiasco has been downright shameful. No journalistic standards. It was the same move Fox started about 10-15 years ago. It's been ten years since I've seen journalism this shoddy. (Outside of course watching CNN for the lulz every so often.)

MSNBC has just stopped trying.

Look up @TheAnonMessage and @OPFerguson. Anonymous is doing some serious work on this. They've released audio tapes from the night already.

Play to the base.

Play to the base.

I get that. But COME ON. Even CNN is asking the intelligent questions (and hard to listen to questions) instead to trying to enflame the situation by letting absurd statements go unchallenged. There's a reason Fox is ridiculed even by (I guess some) on the right for having zero journalistic integrity.

It was like watching Infowars on television.

Be careful who you listen to on Twitter. A fake Anonymous account was feeding misinformation, and sent users to a website run by a "security firm" so they can track everyone's IP. Fun stuff!

I don't understand the desire to carry every where. What the hell kind of Wild West are you living in that you need a gun to go to Chipolte? Do you really go through life that scared? Seems like a crappy way to live. The odds of being hit by a car are much higher than being shot at a restaurant.

Churchill, and I'm translating this based on what I could pick up from watching the original Iron Chef, translates to "horrifying death machine that eats babies".

Again, it's a rough translation but it's close.

Yeah, even if they are legit, I really get squeamish when it comes to armchair detectives doing this kind of work. Especially those with an agenda, an axe to grind, and having absolutely ZERO accountability.

Oh I know, I've only been looking at those two for stuff on Anon's actions.

The police? Oh, you meant Anonymous.

They just arrested two journalists. Detained, booked, would answer no questions, then let them go.

Yeah, Anon's doing better work than anybody else on this.

I think it's gotten to the point that the National Guard needs to take over and that police force needs to sit the next few plays out.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

Who is "he" and who are "they?"

We're the journalists identified as such? We're they violating the law?

But no, you're right. This is the first step in Obama's master plan to silence the journalists and take away the guns.

Re: Nice Plant #7: Get me off of this planet

I know people don't want to call it Martial Law, but if you look at the weaponry and the vehicles the police are using (thanks to the Pentagon and DHS) it sure looks like the military. They have essentially done away with the First Amendment (right to assemble, freedom of the press) and have banned flights over the city. That's awfully close to meeting the definition of Martial Law, even if no one in charge wants to declare it.
