Nice Planet X: I knew it, I'm surrounded by a-holes!

That's what happens. That's how you get fetal liver cells. If you're not dusturbed by the process, then I will submit you've lost your humanity.

PS - you may call it trolling. I call it an abomination before God.

It's also a red herring, since it doesn't happen in this country. It's up there with your voter fraud scares.

Cloning? That's another ethical debate. I guess the question is can I grow just a liver or do I have to get the whole clone (person??????) to get a proper, functional liver?

No, not cloning. If there's a doctor or biologist here she can explain it much better, but my VERY SUPERFICIAL understanding is that cultivation of stem cells allows bio-engineers to grow different types of specialized cells.

BTW, I do not mean to dismiss your ethical concerns over fetal liver cells out of hand, but when you lead with the bloody shirt you're basically announcing your intention to not have a real discussion but just wail. Hence, the reaction.

Our dear Dr. Gosnell did a whole bunch of them. He was legal - until he started killing both the mother and the baby.

And, if your stomach can stand it, watch the uncut video #1. I believe the good doctor remarks that she did 20 "harvesting" procedures the day before.

Kep - read The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula Le Guin. It's available as a free pdf on the web, but this stupid 'droid can't publish the link.

Most of the public would prefer that what happens behind the PP doors would not be made public. It may be legal, but it's not nice.

Umbilical cord blood is, apparently, rich in stem cells. Nobody has (should have) a problem with cord blood being used after the child is born. But can you grow a liver from cord blood, or do you need a real (formerly) live liver?

I know just how to turn everyone on this board against cloning:

Consider multiple FlagDUDEs roaming about this earth...

Bottom line is if we're killing the fetuses anyway we may as well use them for research. Research on fetuses has been happening since the 1930's according to a Newsweek article I read. As long as there are ethical standards in place (no profit for example) I don't see the problem. There's been worse things done on this planet for much worse reasons.

The videos are doctored and sure some of the dialogue is crass. Some of my dialogue is crass when I don't think I'm being videotaped too. So what? As long as no laws are being broken, there's no issue.

Abortion is not funded. The parts of Planned Parenthood that are are very important to the overall Health Care system of this country. You want to set up a "conservative" Planned Parenthood, go ahead. I'm sure the competition would be great for the system. Instead conservatives again offer no alternatives and just whine about the current system.

No, he wasn't legal, he just wasn't caught. So a guy performs illegal abortions, and is now in prison for doing so. That kinda proves my point, not yours.

Neither is meat packing. But that's not going to make me a vegetarian.

Sex education, morning after pills, free contraception available from schools, and removal of parental and spousal consent requirements would go a long, long way to curtailing abortion. There's a lot we can do that we aren't because of measures introduced by the same people who want to end abortion. It's as if they worry abut fire damage but block the funding of fire departments, because they argue we should solely fund "Only You" ads.

Both sides have this blood on their hands, if you want to get visceral about it.

This from a guy who regularly posts stuff from Pat Buchanon? If you and he represent "humanity" then thank Satan I lost it! "Judge not..."

He doesn't have a point...

First post on this threat evah. But I thought this merited special attention:

Hunter who paid $55G to kill Cecil the lion ID'd as Minnesota Dentist

If you're wondering how a Minnesotan could ever do such a thing...he's from No Dakota.

His business is getting crushed on Yelp...

And rightfully so.

Trophy hunters lick taint.

How long until he contacts Yelp to have them removed because he's a dentist working in MN, and the people from ID, CA, TN, etc. that have been logging bad reviews shouldn't be there? If they refuse, how long until he sues Yelp?

Sure, he'll probably be able to dig his way out of this, but it will be painful... and well earned.
