Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

Re: Nice Planet, Part 2: A-holes on parade

If an AC-130 was on station. And if, as has been suggested, it was not utilized out of some concern about "violating Libyan air space," then that would truly put this event in the category of Watergate as far as presidential scandals are concerned. Any consulate or embassy is soverign territory (which the host country by treaty is obliged to protect). Any attack on a diplomatic facility is legally the same as an attack on US soil. And we have the right (not to mention the obligation) to respond in any way we believe is appropriate. The attack on Benghazi went on for 7 hours! We could have intervened at any time and probably saved lives. POTUS sends these people into harm's way and he is responsible for doing what he can to protect them.

When Colonel Gaddafi engineered an explosion at a disco in Germany that took the lives of American GI's I don't recall Reagan having any concerns about "violating Libyan air space" when he sent the FB-111s on a mission to kill the Colonel, or at least get his attention.

The Obama administration is furiously covering up what happened in Benghazi. Trying to run out the clock until after the election. I have reworded what was said about Bush for the case at hand: "Obama DENIED. . .people DIED. . .then he LIED."

How many lives and how many billions did the Iraq war cost? And you're comparing this to an impeachable offense?

100% agree. A-10s, AH-64s, and the AC-130 are all BAD. ***.

My three favorite war machines. Probably in that order. Nothing more impressive to me than a Warthog's ability to basically swoop in and mow through a field of tanks and absorb an enormous amount of damage.

Then there's the Spooky's ability to come in and literally rain down destruction with a wide array of weapons is pretty awesome to think about. Especially when you take the 105mm into the equation.

Honorable mentions to the B-2 Spirit, F-117A Nighthawk, and the B-52 Strat.

The Warthog: a gun with a plane built around it. As to the Buff, pretty soon we'll have the grandchildren of original crewmembers flying that big sucker. Talk about the taxpayer getting his money's worth. And if there had been an AC-130 in the neighborhood and if it had been brought to bear, then every single one of those jihadist a*sholes, I mean all of them, would be knocking boots with their virgins. The C-130 and all its variants is another of the great planes that continues to pay dividends. But the success of those two planes, and many other systems, is generally not mentioned, so we can whine about $700 toilet seats.

There's a big difference. Dubya did not give aid to Al-Qaeda. He went after them. Meanwhile, the protectors of the embassy in Libya were told to stand down. That IS giving aid to the enemy. That is the definition of treason. The crime is called out in the Constitution.

Bubya did not go after Al Qaeda in Iraq--they weren't there when he invaded. But his inept decision to invade certainly helped them gain influence.

Didn't take long in the article to mention the Celtics.

How will racism ever be stopped if we KEEP BRINGING UP BASELESS CRAP LIKE THIS BY USING THE RACE CARD?

The Bruins had a black player (Willie O'Ree) before the Bosox brought up Pumpsy Green. The "revs" can discuss this between themselves.

This is a mixture of good humor with, "what an a-hole":

The article said she was on suicide watch. I say give her a nice length of rope for a belt and take her off the watch and hope nature takes its course.

She'll probably not be convicted. The article makes her sound like she's "long on drywall, short on studs" (credit: Designing Women). What was the name of that b*tch in Clear Lake City who drowned her five kids then laid the bodies out on her bed?* She saved the oldest boy for last and literally chased him around the house 'till she was able to catch and overpower him. Post partum psychosis my fat a*s.

Wasn't she the one who claimed "God" told her to do it?

Could be, I don't recall. Her husband, IIRC, was what my father used to refer to as a "Christer." What I do remember is that oldest boy running for his life from mommy, who had just murdered his brothers and sisters.

I'm prepared to accept that her cheese had slid off the cracker. But I've always thought the verdict in these cases should be "guilty, but insane." To say she or any other whackdoodle is "not guilty"(because of mental defect) just rubs me the wrong way.

This crap of not wanting to hurt someone's feelings needs to stop. If gender can be viewed two ways (and I don't believe it can, but for the sake of argument will allow it) why should the minority view of a psychological view of gender ("I feel like a woman"/"I identify as a man.") trump the majority biological view that the junk that can be seen when naked determines your gender, and, therefore, which lockerroom or restroom one uses? Why don't we just firmly and definitively say, "If you've got boy stuff you use the boys' room, and if you've got girl stuff you use the girls' room"?
