Sorry, not well written. As inappropriate as this was (and it's right up there) all I meant to say was these kids are probably (fingers crossed) not as dedicated to anti-Semitism as old Reinhard was, and that I further hoped none of the kickees were hurt.

True, they're most likely middle schoolers being what middle schoolers are, which usually is complete (and impressionable) morons. Still, the school should take a hard line to nip this behavior before they start to view it as acceptable.

On a side note, I hate how every story about that makes it seem like it's South Park's fault. The episode in no way encourages such a day and its whole freaking point is about how stupid that behavior is. Of course, most journalists only are aware of South Park from stories they read about it in the late 90s where all they talked about was "oh my god it uses bad language" and thus still think it's some evil influence on children and not well-written social commentary and parody.

No question. As Barney Fife would say: "nip it in the bud." Still, did they get the idea from South Park? I mean, where does this stuff come from? Just strikes me as funny, in a retarded, pre-adolescent sort of way. It DOES sound like something Cartman would dream up, doesn't it?

Then there's "Kick a Jew" day at a Florida middle school. I'm hoping none of the kids punished are really Reinhard Heydrich wnnabes and that any kids actually kicked were hurt. But one one level you have to admire their creativity. Some kids are just naturals when it comes to shaking up adults.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I bet if you singled out the lssson/message in many of the South Park episodes (some eps are just off-the-wall comedy, no satire/etc involved) and worded them in more of a socially acceptable manner, more people would be praising the show.

The only thing that is "anti-Jew" in South Park is the character of Cartman, and he gets his comeuppance most times (especially when he actually DOES something to Kyle, who's Jewish).

Basically, as the story goes, Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the creators) wanted to do an "All In The Family" type show, but knew that a live-action one wouldn't fly. Ever. But since it's in cartoon form, they could get away with a lot more things.

Example: It Hits The Fan. Imagine a live version of that?! :D

A) Have not seen that, but heard it's good.
B) Is it on a network? I don't think it is, and that changes the "rules" since cable censors itself (theoretically, to avoid the FCC).

But imagine a Friends episode that does "It Hits The Fan" or even better, I'd love to see a "Family Matters" episode where "It Hits The Fan." :D

What was that Candy/Ackroyd movie of a few years ago where the guy with the skunk hairdo had been struck by lightening 17 times? That's my future. :D
