Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

All the time?!

Faith in a system that is helping feed the nation consistently vs you feeding yourself every once and a while.
How many instectors do you think there are? You're putting your faith in Cargill. Tyson, JBS, Smithfield, National etc. Who do you think they answer to? Shareholders or Inspectors?

Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

What most of us do with road kill, I don't know. When they send out the questionnaires, most of us tea partiers see that as another form of government intrusion--a little like putting cameras in our bedrooms, you know.
I know that in Colorado and Montana you need a permit to claim road kill.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks spokesman Ron Aasheim tells the Missoulian three permits were requested for animals killed in Flathead County, with one each issued in Missoula, Broadwater, Jefferson, Madison, Powell and Lewis and Clark counties. Two elk, one mule deer and eight whitetail deer were claimed between Monday night and mid-day Wednesday.

People wanting to salvage deer, elk, antelope or moose killed by vehicles must apply for a free permit within 24 hours and must remove the entire animal.

Shareholders would be equally ****ed that they just ****ed away their brand by getting all their products pulled from the shelves because they sucked at quality control.

I was referring more to a special interest we Wiscovites have in deer road kill

I think you guys put a lot of faith in inspections. I'll take my chances on a deer that's been roaming in the woods than a critter up to its belly in **** at a feed lot.

How many pounds of venison are consumed annually in this country vs. beef?

Walrus is right on here. Feed lot conditions are atrocious. Animals covered in feces (how do you think e. coli gets in your hamburger). The conditions are inhumane and unsanitary. They have to treat beef ground "products" with chemical like ammonia and pump the animals full of antibiotics. (Here is a tip, only buy ground beef that has been ground in site) I buy locally raised grass fed beef from an organic farm. The animals are treated with respect, have humane living conditions, and are butchered in a small family shop (not a factory). The animal isn't living any of its life knee deep in **** on a feed lot. It doesn't eat ground up animal parts. It doesn't have to be fed antibiotics, and it gets no growth hormones. Neither is the deer in the woods behind my camp. I don't hunt, but I would trust that a lot more than factory farmed beef.

Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

This should be in the Truly Nice Planet thread, but I want our cop-hating troll to read what being a police officer is truly about.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...opped-to-play-ball-with-young-boy-speaks-out/

“I literally got out of the car. I did like this, which is the universal sign of ‘throw me the football,’ and at that time you just saw his face lit up, and he was ready to play,” he continued to KTRK-TV. “At that time, he and I both connected. We began to throw the football. You can see that I’m obviously trying to get him to go along, and so we’re just playing a game of catch, and it was awesome.”

Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

I've already seen that. Doesn't mean I'm automatically going to see that cop. I need to prepare for any possible contingency, and that is the cop you are denying, yet still exists.

You just floor me with the idea that there are these statistical outliers, and you're treating them as the norm. How many thousands of police officers, sheriffs, and state patrol officers are there in this country making how many millions of civilian contacts in a given year? You're focusing on a small handful of bad incidents and treating it as the norm. You're way off base here.

Just don't lip off to the officer and don't be black, then you'll be fine.

Completely agree. There is probably a greater percentage of doctors (and for sure a greater percentage of lawyers) who mistreat their clients. FD, do you assume that every doctor is out to kill you and harvest your organs or that every lawyer is trying to defraud you into bankruptcy?

You forgot about muzzling and caging the dog. ;)

It's too bad, though, that a cop looking to throw the ball with a kid is now the statistical outlier.

Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

Hasn't anybody in Tempe read the Constitution? The Tontons Macoutes of political correctness are out to punish an ASU fraternity for holding an "offensive" MLK party. These reactionary slugs are apparently missing the obvious fact that the TEKES had this particular party on that particular day to tweak the slobbering hypocrisy which is rampant on our college campuses these days.
