Send the scum back to the ****hole he came from. Push him out the door over their airspace without a parachute. These people don't deserve to live.

I'd prefer to deliver the lawyer via air express.

Let's all ignore the real reason for this - a good ol' Southern boy (gasp!) likes My Little Pony merchandise. :p I seriously have to applaud his conviction, because frankly, I wouldn't have been caught DEAD with those pink and purple ponies on my back 20 years ago.

Anybody else here think that the kid is already screwed with getting tagged with the name of Grayson Bruce??

Hell, even 10 years ago it would have been a stretch for me.

Overall, I agree with the sentiment that this is "punishing the victim". The kid should not be bullied, even for wearing a dumb looking pony backpack. At the same time, this is a situation where I'd think the parent would see the situation that this would put their kid in, and talk him down a bit. Everyone knows that that kid would get bullied wearing that, so why actively decide to put your kid through that?

When I was 6 my mom somehow had the bright idea to buy me a Disney lunchbox (I don't remember which one but does it matter?) and I told her right away to get a brown bag because there's no way I was going to school with that thing.

I agree. Parents can do some things to protect their kid and the first on the list would be to NOT allow a 10yo to wear a mpp backpack.

I'm reminded of the conversation my wife and I had about the possibility of naming our first boy Kieran. I said something to the effect of "Do you really want him to have defend that name on the playground every day of his childhood?"

I won.

Of course the school is being cowardly and avoiding a teaching opportunity in regards to tolerance...

Similar story: When I was about that age, my favorite and most successful Aunt sent me a T-shirt with "Gophers Suck!" on the front. I was pumped, but my mom took me aside and said, "Honey, I know you want to wear this more than anything in the world, but there are some sick twisted people out there who just wouldn't understand."

I had a really cool Scooby Doo lunchbox at that time. Still got teased. I had this cool NFL one with all the helmets from the teams on it. That one was ok.

Re: Nice Planet 6: Get Me Off This Planet.

Did he get shot? Did any of the cops react poorly, in any way whatsoever? Or maybe you're suggesting that the tree removal workers should have just chuckled when a shirtless guy comes out telling them to go the bleep away, with what - at a distance - appears to be a gun in his waistband? Sure, if you're standing next to the guy it looks like a tattoo, but from a distance it will appear like a handgun. Are you saying you'd risk your life if you were that tree worker? I sure as he11 wouldn't.

Full disclosure on what this tattoo actually looks like.

The cops did react poorly. You're going to send a militarized SWAT team? Welcome to the signs of martial law, because we now live in a perpetual police state.

My team worked with BG Sinclair shortly before he was pulled out of command to face these charges. Looking back on my conversations with him, I didn't see him as being the monster the press reports suggest. However one of his aides, a female O-3, seemed a considerably more attractive (eye candy) than what is normally encountered in that role so I wonder if she wasn't on the string. Nevertheless, he will soon be a civilian. Too bad he fell over to the dark side because he was a helluva warrior.
