Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

So there aren't any non-natural deaths in Chicago? Or have you been watching Demolition Man again?

Last time I checked the sad and tragic deaths in Chicago were mostly gun based were they not? How does that deviate from what I just said?

Because compared to cities that actually observe the 2nd amendment, there are less guns.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

So, you obviously don't think that if Mr. Zimmerman wasn't carrying than both of them would be alive today. You think the 17 year old would have found a way to kill him if he didn't have a gun to protect himself.

That's some good thoughts. I kind of think less guns would equal less death. The stats that I've seen seem to support that point of view.

Here's what I "obviously" think: you and "the one" apparently don't like the 2nd Amendment very much and have convinced yourselves that what we really need in this country are more federal laws regulating fire arms. The flaw in your "thinking" is that members of the Blackstone Rangers (and other gangs) will give up their weapons, forgo drive bys and obey your precious new laws. Not only is it not probable, I doubt it's even possible. 1,000 shootings and 200 deaths in the first six months of the year in Chicago.

Although I believe Zimmeman was more assertive than appropriate and showed bad judgment, if he hadn't been armed we would have seen a trial all right, but for the death or serious injury of George Zimmerman. The little angel was well on his way. Notwithstanding the illiterate Ms. Jeantel's efforts to explain how unthreatening and unserious an "a*s whuppin" is, most of us (except the ones in deep denial) know she and you are as full of crap as a Christmas goose.

One of the lines that stuck out from her testimony (and I paraphrase), "weed never made him violent, it just made him hungry."

Apparently Ms. Jeantel has never heard of a 'bad trip', or that marijuana can induce temporary paranoia in some users.

Also largely unremarked upon by the Black Grievance Industry: the young lady's belief that Martin started the fight.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

Crazy Uncle Joe had it covered today

I'm just glad the bad guy is black and his name is Kevyn Orr. If it was me (WASC), there's a good chance I'd already be shot.

It seems likely that the pensions will be legally exempted from any sort of bankruptcy by the time this is all said and done. The unions are pretty tooth and nail about it (honestly, I can't blame them), and the court proceedings have already begun. Most importantly (and I honestly did not know this), it appears to be embedded in state law.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

some more Detroit:

Judge says "STOP RIGHT THERE!!"

US Taxpayers on hook for 19,389 Detroit retirees' healthcare? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...-19389-retirees-into-obamacares-marketplaces/

It's not over yet, but the entire state of Michigan could ultimately be on the hook for Detroit retiree's pensions and healthcare if the courts agree. How do you think that's going sit with the residents of, say, up-and-coming Grand Rapids (a traditionally conservative area)? Not to mention other industrially-supported Michigan cities that have been in declining circumstances for 2-3 decades just like Detroit - Flint, Saginaw, Warren, Dearborn, etc.

Could the Feds be on the hook via the Pension Benefit Guaranty Board??

This is going to get ugly before it gets better.

Re: Nice planet 4: Take 2. Action!

On the day we're "remembering Trayvon," perhaps we could also find time to be concerned about a 6-year old girl seriously wounded in another senseless black on black shooting. Ironically she and her aunt were at a gathering to remember an earlier victim of violence when some a*sholes (who came armed, of course) began shooting at each other. And hit her and the aunt instead their targets. Has the race baiter in chief got any bromides for that? Maybe "rev" Al's "National Action Network" can stop pimping the death of a kid long enough to take notice.
