Also if thy do not take the deal - he can plead not guilty by reason of insanity. If they find he is insane, he potentially can walk Scott free if a few year down the road they find him to be better. That therapy and drugs have cured his illness.

One of the worst uses of language, IMO, is "not guilty by reason of insanity." Far better, and more accurate, would be "guilty, but insane." It's not like there's the slightest doubt this pos pulled the trigger (repeatedly) so why would we enter a verdict that he was "not guilty?" It's just semantics, I realize, but it's always p*ssed me off.

In Canada, it's called "not criminally responsible." Yesterday, a jury found this guy "not criminally responsible" for running down a Toronto police sergeant with a snow plow.

I'm leaning this way.....simply because there has to be some sort of law that discounts feelings of the victims, etc. There are guidelines that we should not stray far from. Add to that the costs of appeals if the death sentence is handed down.....no parole, jail for life (preferably solitary, unless some certain prisoners dislike the guy...just sayin')
I just want him the prosecutors to take the deal so we can avoid having this guy splashed across the news any more than is necessary. To some degree, I do think these shooting spree perpetrators get off on the idea that they'll make the national news. So let's not give him his protracted trial and just shut him away for life, gone from the public eye forever until nature takes him. And if nature takes by way of shiv, all the better.

I was thinking that nature should take him by way of AIDS, via Cell Block B All-Star Center, Tyrese. If you know what I mean.

Is that kind of like a "hot kobe beef injection"?

Aside from the fact the wings are awful, now Mrs. P and I have another reason not to give Buffalo Wild Wings our business.

A server at Buffalo Wild Wings reportedly refused to serve eight police officers, because they had their weapons displayed.

The Prince William County Police officers were on-duty, but were in plain clothes, reports the Manassas Patch. They were refused service by an employee who stated that the property was a gun-free establishment.

The officers had their badges displayed but still weren't served.

Scott Lupton, the general manager of the Manassas Buffalo Wild Wings location says the incident was a "huge misunderstanding." Lupton wrote an email to the police department to apologize on behalf of the business.

Yuck - dunkin donuts is much better :p
I was thinking about the chain to use before posting, but then I realized that we don't have any donut store chains around here anymore. There might be a Dunkin' Donuts hiding somewhere in the state, but they're not common. So I swung with KK since they made the last big push to enter this market.

The advantage to prosecutors, of course, is a guaranteed win.

Not to mention saving the state close to $1 million in legal costs!

The reason we have police and courts in the first place is to gain some distance from the feelings of the victims. Most people don't know it but "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" historically was an advance in defendants' rights: it limited the revenge you could seek only to the damage actually done to you.

I remember when the Maple Grove, MN store opened. I remember one of the guys bringing in a box and we were so excited to try one. We all were thoroughly unimpressed all they were were pure sugar and lard. I remember eating it and started shaking/ stomach started to turn. Needless to say that was the last KK I ever had. One of the guys had invested heavily in KK stock because it was the cool thing back then. He had his first KK that night as well. He was so unimpressed he spent the next 20 mins on his e-trade account selling his stock. It was one of his smartest decisions ever.

Re: Nice Planet 3: I Can't Believe I Share A Planet With THESE People!

I was disappointed y'all didn't have any out there. In this area, they've really been growing.
Doughnut chains never seem to do well around here. I don't know why that is. Walking around the streets, we're not the slimmest bunch around.

At the same time, local grocery stores do well in selling their fancy bakery donuts, as do the convenience stores. There are even local bakery shops that do big business in selling them. All the while big hitters like DD and KK have flopped here.
