I was going to Mankato when a tornado or two ripped through just south of St. Peter. (Which is the unlucky town in MN when it comes to these things.) More mostly rural areas were hit with those, unlike the F4 in the mid-90's which hit the town and Gustavus Adolphus directly.

No doubt. The company that I work for does charitable things from time to time and as marketing director, it's my job to get the local news there to cover it.

Now, we'd do the charitable stuff either way, but I (we) want the PR if at all possible.

The gays want equality, which I have no problem with. Then they think the laws don't apply to them when it comes to sexual abuse of a minor? Sorry gay community, but you're not being discriminated against here, you're being treated the exact same as if this was a male 18 year old and a female 14 year old having a sexual encounter. Equality.

I don't think generalizing the entire gay population is appropriate here. I'd be willing to bet there are plenty who don't agree with what she did, or the stance of whatever "groups" are rallying around her.

That being said, this really seems pretty cut and dry to me. If it was an 18-year old dude that did this, he's going to prison without a doubt.

Personally, I think there should be an exemption for hot female teachers - which they always seem to be.

Not in my schools though. :mad:

Yeah that's enough...Enough for the rest of us to figure out your use of the word "pundits" describing people who said this, is a gross exaggeration. You post a link to one obscure site that no one has ever heard of and then list two uncredited images that any arsehat with a computer could have made and likely posted to some extremist site frequented by a few lunatics and ignored by the rest of the population.

But we're supposed to believe that's the same as this time, when a much higher profile pundit (and that term actually applies this time) decides to make a horrendously inappropriate joke using a form of media that millions upon millions of people use and read every day?

I'd like to think that if god worked this way, it would have been WBC in the path of that tornado instead of a school filled with innocent children.

I agree, it shouldn't be about characterizing the entire gay population, but instead calling out the specific individuals and groups that are involved. Those involved are so far on the wrong side of this, that you can't make it up.

Oh no, you see, natural disasters are clearly against god-hating liberals, which is why it went against one of the worst offenders ever: a teacher's union. :rolleyes:

And you would have heard about this "horrendously inappropriate joke" if the daily howler hadn't alerted you to it? Right, because I'm sure a lot of you follow Lizz on twitter. :rolleyes: Speaking of twitter, saying it's used by "millions upon millions"...how many hundreds of millions use the Internet?

So pundits only count if you've heard of them. OK, I'll keep that in mind.
