GD it! Why don't you for once give up your passive aggressive bull sh*t? Just give it a rest for a day or two. At least until the death count is final. What the h*ll is wrong with you?
The grown ups are having a discussion.

That being the case, perhaps one of the biggest children around here should shut the eff up, just temporarily. People are hurting. Their lives shattered. And all you can think about is scoring bull sh*t political points. You are a sad, pathetic case.

They were saying any help is needed after a tragedy. Obviously not, as after the worst terrorist attack in our country's history and a significant natural disaster aid was rejected. Sorry if you can't deal with it, but it happened. My pointing it out isn't going to make a damm bit of difference to the people in Oklahoma.

". . .a sad, pathetic case." I'll deal with that. You deal with yourself the best way you can. Yours is a case where sophistry and cruelty merge seamlessly. I guess that's the answer to my question.

Yeah, I'll muddle through somehow.

The part about global warming. :D

Asked and answered Your Honor
http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/20/d...ver-climate-change-as-tornadoes-hit-oklahoma/

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming.

Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters.

Re: Nice Planet 3: I Can't Believe I Share A Planet With THESE People!

Be sure to quote him fully.

“So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.”

Commie!

Commie!

I don't give a crap about the whole quote. I care that this POS tried to score political points while Oklahomans were still searching for survivors.

Re: Nice Planet 3: I Can't Believe I Share A Planet With THESE People!

You say that, but the former president and the former mayor of New York City were canonized for refusing aid offered for political reasons after Katrina and 9/11.
You can really be a complete, blithering idiot at times. They should have gotten rations of bleep for that. But that doesn't make mocking this tragedy with a callback to some other a55hat right. It makes it that much more wrong! Didn't anybody ever teach you that two wrongs don't make a right?

Learning that lesson, and applying it here--would render him mute.

The same people who gave them credit for refusing aid are now among those saying it would be wrong to refuse aid. Which is it? Is it too much to ask for consistency? I have said I am all for whatever aid Oklahomans can get - just as I was for whatever aid the Gulf Coast or the Northeast could get after their disasters.

I don't give a crap about the whole quote.

That's a perfect summary.

Of course, my post had nothing to do with refusing aid...

Really?

Who cares what their reasons are for helping? The point is...THEY'RE ****ING HELPING!.
It shouldn't matter. Times like this need EVERYONE to help.

My point was, obviously everyone does not need to help. In the past, help has been refused, has it not?

If help was refused, then that means help was offered in the first place. Just sayin'.

Re: Nice Planet 3: I Can't Believe I Share A Planet With THESE People!

My initial point about the Kemp thing was why are people trolling him when he wants to help. That was my initial gripe.

My guess is that you knew that posting the article about that tweet in here would get a response. Looked like **** stirring to me.

And for the record, I agree with you that it was tasteless - even though I understand the point that she was making and that Priceless is referring to. Time and place lady.

That's more or less the point.

Pure altruism is an admirable thing. But just because something is good PR or good for business doesn't make it objectionable. Those concepts aren't mutually exclusive.*

*I've actually been to Plattsburgh to catch a KC 135 flight. Never again.

Re: Nice Planet 3: I Can't Believe I Share A Planet With THESE People!

I've been going through some pretty significant deja vu for the last 48 hours. I was there for the monster F5 storm that flattened Moore in '99. The storm this week was significantly less powerful, yet spent more time on the ground. Obviously my deja vu is nothing compared to the suffering of the people in Moore, some of whom were doubtless wiped out by both storms. But my experience gives me some insight into what these folks are going through, again. And it's going to be very hard for them for a long time. So if I'm a little sensitive about perceived lack of empathy by some of my colleagues, I hope they'll understand. I had to go to memorial services. Talk to survivors who'd lost everything. Interview families who'd lost loved ones. Talk to first responders about what they encountered. And walk through neighborhoods day after day that looked like the surface of the Moon.

I recall vividly how some insurance adjuster cracked wise with a husband and wife about they "better not claim any Rembrandts." And the state insurance commissioner announced angrily they'd put that sucker on a plane outta Dodge. The death toll isn't as high as had been feared. A minor miracle, to be sure. Even so, Moore is going to be on its a*s for a long time. Just like any community is after a major weather event. New Orleans is still recovering. And so is Joplin.

What has haunted me the last couple of days is the possibility that some of the people I came to know in '99 have been hit again. Obviously, this isn't about me. But I have been there and done that. Trust me, you don't ever want to walk through the remains of a neighborhood where everything is gone. Where stunned homeowners are sitting out on their stoop with no home left. Where there's no infrastructure left. And the future is guarded at best.
