Re: Nice Planet 2012

Nah. Just tase them and lob them into the fire. Those two zeroes aren't adding anything useful to mankind anyway.

EDIT: After seeing their lovely mugshots, I read this gem:

Yates, 38, and Garrett, 36, were also in possession of methamphetamine at the time they were arrested.

Nooooo. You don't say....

Now that you mention it, but it makes no sense wasting a good taze on them.
FNC reports the scum are even breaking into evacuees cars in hotel parking lots. National Guard has been called in.

Re: Nice Planet 2012

So lifeguard Tomas Lopez saved the life of a swimmer in Florida. And got fired for his efforts. Seems the rescue occurred outside of his "assigned zone." Company "policy" is to call 911 in those cases. Is the young man just supposed to watch somebody drown? What are the chances the EMTs would have gotten there in time? The kid has been offered his job back. He told 'em to stick it. Good for him. This is insanity.

First the Florida lifeguard, now this from some pencil pusher in the Philly Fire Department.

A Philadelphia firefighter who survived a recent warehouse fire in Kensington is being called a hero again. He risked his life to save another.

But hours after the dramatic rescue, Fran Cheney says he was being criticized by a top fire department official for his rescue

Re: Nice Planet 2012

I guess I can see the firefighter getting criticized in this case. By offering his mask, he put both himself AND the victim in more danger. But then again, there's a very thin line between bravery and stupidity. I'd like to think he was on the side of bravery in this case.

One consideration for "suits" always should be: how will this look to the public? How does this look? The guy showed quick thinking and bravery and saved the woman's life. And gave her 500 bucks to help her get back on her feet. How will this brave, generous firefighter look to the public? And how will his supervisor?

If there was some minor violation of protocols (which are not handed down from God, BTW) there's a time and a place to talk about it. But when your firefighter is in a hospital bed, recovering from his injuries, having saved the life of a citizen, you shut the eff up and put him in for a commendation.

The biggest consideration the "suits" have these days is how this will look to the lawyers, sadly.

Would the FD look better to the lawyers if she had died? Anyway, I should not have used the word "suits." What I should have said was anybody in the guy's chain of command: captains, commanders, assistant fire chiefs, etc. Anybody who has actually eaten a little smoke. They should circle the wagons around this guy for representing all that's good about firefighters in general and the Philly FD in particular. What some deputy mayor in charge of looking out the window thinks is so much chaff to me.

Tomas Lopez is going to get the key to the city in Hallandale Beach. Good. Maybe the city fathers should also take a look at the contract with the management company whose supervisors evidently think a guy swimming on the wrong side of the line should be left to drown. I'd look into finding another company to provide life guards. Also, in the CNN video notice how slight Lopez is. He's really quite small. Just makes his skill and bravery that much more remarkable.

No penalty for the firefighter

Cheney told MyFoxPhiladelphia.com that one of his bosses criticized his actions during a hospital visit.

“I was told,” said Cheney, ‘that wasn’t very smart.’”

“Protocols are not sharing your air with someone,” Lloyd Ayers told MyFoxPhiladelphia.com.

But “the result made it worth it at that point, and that’s how we look at it,” he said.

Ayers says Cheney will not be reprimanded for breaking the rules.

Cheney also gave Jackson $500 in his overtime pay to get her back on her feet. He said he’d do the same thing again.

Re: Nice Planet 2012

Can someone explain how it is that the careers of America's two biggest "civil rights" leaders are based on lies? JJ Sr. says he was there on the balcony when Dr. King was shot. LIE. Sharpton says a young black woman was sexually assaulted by a group of whites, (which just happened to have included an assistant DA) LIE.

Sharpton's actually got a body count, but that hasn't deterred him in his ambitiion to be the "baddest n-word in New York City." He is a national pest, guaranteed to show up anywhere he can foment racial unrest. But as this black columnist says, the one place you won't see Sharpton is Chicago, which is enduring a summer of horrific black on black violence.

G*d d*mn b*stards! "Religion of peace", my a*s. This really IS a "war on women," but the feminists, as usual, are more worried about Romney or Limbaugh.

DeNiro had the right idea in "The Untouchables:"

"I want you to get this ******* where he breathes! I want you to find this nancy-boy Eliot Ness, I want him DEAD! I want his family DEAD! I want his house burned to the GROUND! I wanna go there in the middle of the night and I wanna P*SS ON HIS ASHES!"

I had not heard of this one because to me, Nancy Grace is a no-talent, obnoxious cow. Consequently, I avoid her at every opportunity. But anyone attempting to link this suicide (not you, Twitch Boy) to her is grossly mischaracterizing this incident, IMO. Any person who admits to consuming a fifth of voda in a "few hours" has major problems and a liver the size of a medicine ball.
