Re: Nice Planet 2012

Pits can be a great dog if you handle them right. I wouldn't really recommend em to a family with small children, but, I wouldn't just assume they're a-holes because they have a pit in the house. Now, if it was out in the yard on a chain, maybe.

Yes, yes, I understand. I'm not on a jihad against pits. It's the combination of a pit AND piranhas, piranhas evidently kept in such a way an infant had access to them, that's the key datum to me in deciding that they're as*holes. Pits were once the all-American dog. Petey in the original Our Gang was a pit, Teddy Roosevelt had one in the White House and Buster Brown's Tige was also a pit. Since they are so capable, and breath through their noses (which means they don't have to release a victim to breath) they require an enormous amount of socialization. Dobies and Rottweilers do too, because they are also very capable.

Lots of pits are owned by adult children who view them as fashion accessories or some sort of statement about the size of their d*cks. Plenty of pits are friendly, household pets, good with kids and the whole nine yards. Yet you read from time to time about a pit going apesh*t and attacking a kid or an old lady and chewing them to pieces. Makes me think I wouldn't want to take a chance.

I surmised these people live in an apartment. The Tribune piece referred to a "residential complex." Interestingly, the Trib quotes the adults as initially assuming the pit did the damage.

Daddy says **** you're fear mongering. It's the owner not the dog.

Re: Nice Planet 2012

Piranha does the biting and he posts more about pitbulls and how dangerous they are and how often he sees a story about them attacking someone.

Sorry, that's not him saying the same thing.
You know you're the same, right? You read stuff, but only comprehend what you expected to see in the first place.

OP had a pretty valid point. Someone who keeps both piranhas and a pit bull as pets seems very likely to me to be the kind of a-hole that encourages the pit bull to be mean. Especially if, when he sees that his child is injured, his gut reaction is that the pit bill did it.

That said, I actually wouldn't expect that kind of person to react the way he did, grabbing the fish and cutting it open to get the fingertip. but Foxton, just because it's OP doesn't necessarily mean that you HAVE to disagree with every single thing he says. (And yes, I see the irony of ME of all people saying that.) :D

Oh please, I disagree with OP because in a story about a piranha biting off a child's fingertip he focused on the pit bull enough to post this "Note: these a*sholes also have a pit bull." He then went on to explain how dangerous and how owners are often times just getting one for vanity. Actually equating pit bulls or piranha with a-hole owners or bad parents is just as asinine as thinking a breed of dog is immediately bad.

It is a reasonable reaction to think the dog, any dog did it, kids getting into aquariums is simply not as likely as doing something to **** a dog off enough to snap at em. BUT the dog didn't do anything, the parents aren't up on any charges, no history of them doing anything, and there's no actual information about the parents past them being distraught over their child getting hurt and immediately trying to treat the injury.

But enough about that, let's look at some more bad parents and dangerous animals.

Clearly they need to be put down.

He didn't focus on it. He mentioned it. When he "focused" on it was in response to another post.

This self-serving POS is such an embarassment to this state:

Now airing as a commercial locally here in Detroit.
