Well, the Isles certainly gave the Pens all they could handle, arguably outplayed them for the series. Future is bright.

Brooks orpik wins it for mookie

I have to say, I personally think kenny albert does a terrific job. Very knowledgable, doesn't make it about himself, calls a good game. No idea what others think but I like him.

Good genes.

and milbury can go beat up another kid, throwing doubt around about my goalie  f off!!

That was hilarious. If Fleury was playing today, Islanders win by about 4 goals. The only reason Pittsburgh beat the Islanders was that Nabby was just as bad as Fleury, luckily Pittsburgh happened to have an actual starting goalie on the bench.

I know most of you guys don't like the senior circuit IIHF championships, but I'm a sucker for pretty much any international competition.

US is in position to win the pool with a game left in the preliminary round. Though with the NHL still going, a lot of teams (Russia definitely) are missing players that would normally be there.

I don't know where I can watch any of this. I thought the NHL Network showed it in the past.

As usual, Sweden gets their key guys back "early" ... Sedin, Sedin, Edler ... :D

I'm surprised that they're doing this well but, if they keep advancing, they'll have to play Russia again or Canada and/or Sweden. And I don't like the chances.

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013 - Walruses, Trolls and other assorted creatures.

The ice looks twice as wide in most of the Eastern series as it did in the STL-LAK one.

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013 - Walruses, Trolls and other assorted creatures.

Stooped Bruins.
Actually, I didn't think they played that badly tonight. If they lose the series, it will be because of the half azzed effort in the first half of game 5.

Re: NHL Playoffs 2013 - Walruses, Trolls and other assorted creatures.

If Anaheim loses tonight, would that be a bigger choke job than when the Bruins lose tomorrow?

If they win the Group they'll probably play Slovakia and then the winner of Canada / Sweden. Lose and we/they play Russia and then Switzerland.

Hmmmmmm.....
