Frequent travel, likely high use of NSAIDs, and possible cocaine use. It’s a wonder there aren’t more cases in the NHL.
 
And Kazakhstan beats Poland 3-1 to stay in the Championship division while Poland will drop back down to DIA. Hungary and Slovenia up for next year.
 
Britain gets relegated yesterday, then ruins Austria’s hopes of a knock out round berth by beating them 4-2.

Sweden vs Finland now guaranteed for the quarterfinals. Depending on results USA will play Canada, Switzerland, or Czechia. My pick would be Switzerland to avoid Canada and a hometown crowd.

US beats Latvia 6-3 and will face Switzerland in the quarterfinals.

The GB captain basically said post game “You’re welcome Finland. If any Finn wants to buy us a drink we’ll be downtown.” Which, knowing the Finns ability to drink and their love for hockey, might be a mistake.
 
QFs: Slovakia-Canada and Czech Republic-US. Gonna take a miracle; the Czechs have the better chance and the home crowd so... how bout some Vaclav Premysl luck?

US loses 1-0 to Czechia. Outshot them 36-29, but couldn't get one past. Czechs scored on a PP goal that just barely trickled over the line. The drought will continue to 65 years (or 92 not counting Olympic/WC shared tournaments).

Canada, Switzerland, and Sweden win the other quarters. It'll be Sweden-Czechia and Canada-Switzerland in the semis.
 
I don't know where we're putting PWHL posts but Minnesota got fucked all night long by the refs. Only the second time I've ever seen beer and shit thrown on the ice in 30 years of attending games.
