It is funny(?) that I think the defense is actually their strong point. If there is a strong point a 7-16-3 team can have.
7-19. Don't enable the NHL's percentage inflation.

I kind of agree that it's good. For 55 min. Or at least good enough for those 55 min.

The Blessed Theme Returns!NHL officially going back to ESPN next year!!! As a Wings fan this makes me irrationally happy. There was always something missing with the NHL on the various NBC channels.
ESPN is just not hockey friendly, and I don't see this changing much. Their talking heads will still be unwatchable.

Details of the agreement:
100 regular season games a year
25 of these will be on ESPN/ABC
75 will be on ESPN+
Half the playoffs each season
Stanley Cup Finals in 4/7 years
NHL.TV will be included in ESPN+
I’m really confused why they would only show 25 regular season games. Maybe the 75 games on ESPN+ are going to be shown on ESPN2 as well?

I really wonder how popular the streaming services are actually getting. If they are not, and NBC can't come to a good agreement- 25 games a year on TV will kill the NHL. By the time the contract would end, nobody would remember the game.

Popular enough that ESPN and the NHL are willing to partner on it.I really wonder how popular the streaming services are actually getting. This is actually a pretty good deal. ESPN+ is already worth its cost and this just increases the value plus the likely weekly games on TV. The NHL gets a second network involved and more coverage plus access to games is now easier for fans.
