Oh it'll be an all-timer for sure.

Team NA vs Sweden and NA leads 3-2 with goals from Matthews, Trocheck, and Gaudreau. Team NA had more American goals in one period than Team USA had all tournament. SMDH.

Why the past tense? The tournament is still going. The US could come out with 15 irrelevant goals tomorrow!

Finland must win in regulation to advance. An OTL for Russia would still put them through since first tiebreaker is head to head rather than goal differential.

Edit: Never mind, I got the points all mixed up.

Europe down to Canada thru 2. If results hold right now, it would be Canada vs NA and Sweden vs Europe.

Speaking of embarrassing, sports company Fanatics took over Shop.NHL.com this summer, and that includes the game-worn jersey auction. Meigray, long time partner and trusted source for game-worn jerseys, was given the heave-ho this summer.

World Cup of Hockey road jerseys were posted for auction this past week on Auction.NHL.com. BUT... they were also available to "buy it now" if you contacted Fanatics directly. Only, the "buy it now" price was kept secret unless you called Fanatics about it.

Turns out, Fanatics is trying to rape the game worn jersey market by asking astronomical "buy it now" pricing. Seems the market quickly corrected them at auction.

No way the Jets would take Pulkinnen. Everyone knows Kenny would give up a kidney for a solid right-handed D from Oakland County. They'll want Larkin.

Kevin Cheveldayoff can likely be persuaded otherwise. He always was looking at the guys not first on the usual scouting lists. A Moneyball-esque eye for talent.

Knowing Larkin is likely not on the table, Chevy could ask for Pulks, Helm/Mantha (or both), and a pick for Trouba + an AHL Moose player.

Penguins could really use a RHD but the problem is even if they got him they'd leave someone vulnerable in the expansion draft (same goes for any team that isn't horrible).
