It's a long season. The Wild could get it figured out before the end.

They might but they don't have Toews, or Kane. They don't have the blueline the Hawks do, and the certainly don't have the goaltending.

Wild are 0-6 this season against Chicago, Anaheim, LA, and St. Louis.

Not trying to equate the two teams nor do I believe that they have the same ceiling this season.

The Wild are certainly playoff contenders though.

They'll continue this crappy play for a while longer, then scratch and claw their way in, scrape by in the first round, then bow out in the second. Again. Also, everyone will think it was an amazing run and be so excited about how the Wild are so close.

Ah well, it'll still be fun. :D

You think they'll automagically get by round one again? I don't. I'm not even positive they'll get in to be honest.

Shirtless Guy and I were at the Wild game last night. We both thought they played a decent game. I don't know how they couldn't put home one or more of their chances in the 2nd period. They were dominant in the 2nd, and looked good in the 3rd. Then shat the bed in the OT.

Edmonton is folding the Oklahoma City Barons after this season, citing: too successful in their league playoffs as cause of death. Can't be having any winning in the organization now, can they?

In seriousness, the Oil are not renewing their lease in OKC, and are likely the first domino in the long rumored IHL 2.0... err... the AHL's westward expansion. Their likely landing spot will be promoting their ECHL club Bakersfield Condors to the AHL, with fellow NHL clubs LA, Anaheim, Colorado, and San Jose joining for the 2015-16 AHL season.

Of those clubs, only LA and San Jose own their AHL affiliate making the move easy. Anaheim and Colorado would need to purchase an AHL team/franchise and move the club. Last I had read, Norfolk (ANA) is owned by a local group in North Carolina and Lake Erie (COL) is owned by the Cavaliers owners to compliment the building's use.

It'll be interesting to see how long Alaska and Idaho survive in the ECHL if the other West Coast teams won't be in the league.

The Bruins might trade Loui Ericsson to St. Louis for Captain America?!? I'll drive Loui to the airport!
