Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Sucks for Cops, with Elliott and Allen locked up as 1A/1B for the time being.
He'll get plenty of starting time with the Chicago Wolves. Binnington is also Blues property, but didn't see much time with Climie (AHL contract) taking most of the starts. Climie is headed to Germany for this season.

Pheonix didn't spend enough time at Tech to get to hate the Wildcats, did he? He may not like me next season. :D

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Whatever. Screw the blues. They should trade Elliott while they're at it. They don't want Badger goalies anyway.

Yeah, but he's great in shootouts against Russian goalies

How drunk are you right now?

You're trolling so well that you even spelled his name right. *sigh* ;)

****, I was hoping for deportation.

That could still happen.

There were some questions about the deal meriting deportation for the Russian-born Voynov but according to Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register, the judge presiding over the case said that is for immigration court to decide.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

So I found a Reddit thread where they try to recreate last week's trades in NHL 15 GM mode.

Not one of them went through.

The Man
The Myth
The Oshie

Is now a Washington Capital.

@alex_prewitt: The Capitals have acquired F TJ Oshie from the St. Louis Blues in exhange for Troy Brouwer, Pheonix Copley and a 2016 3rd-rounder. Woah.

The Capitals are a defenseman away from winning the East. The Blues...I have no idea what the Blues are doing.

:D This doesn't surprise me. EA's programming is terrible. They're too busy cranking out roster updates and calling it a new game to actually spend time with the inner workings like realistic trade scenarios.

Vladimir Tarasenko signed 8 years, $60 million ($7.5m AAV). Fantastic deal for the Blues.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

I understand Tarasenko at $7.5M AAV.

I don't understand O'Reilly at $7.5M AAV.

I don't understand why PIT thinks Kessel is the solution. Rebuilding the defense corps, that's a solution.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

The Capitals are a defenseman away from winning the East.

Given their pattern of late (Niskanen, Orpik, Chorney) maybe WAS should go get Scuderi from PIT. I've heard he's available.

The Blues...I have no idea what the Blues are doing.

Honestly, I don't think STL is as mentally tough (post-season-wise) as many believe. I think Brouwer will toughen them up. Yeah, he's coming from WAS (and their storied playoff recent history) but he does show up in the playoffs and that's more than you can say for most of STL.

No goals in 17 straight playoff games is showing up? 0.24 points per game in the playoffs (which is less than what T.J. "Playoff Choker" Oshie puts up) is showing up? He had one really good playoff run with the Blackhawks 5 years ago. He has 3 goals and 6 assists in 42 games since then. If that's showing up, I hope the Blues never show up in the playoffs.

They've totally revamped the top 6 and now you could potentially have Dupuis playing on the third line.

They gotta hope their D is healthy at the right time (ie playoffs) but the top 4 of Letang, Maatta, Cole and DP is pretty solid. Fill out the bottom with Lovejoy and Dumolin/Erixon/Scud and I don't think they're in trouble by any means. I do hope they can jettison Scuderi's contract though.
