I see Marchand embellishing on a couple plays, Ferrence embellishing on a high stick that wasn't, and Thorton should have gotten an Razzy for how bad a performance he gave. Three of the plays they showed were guys losing an edge which looks worse than it is. And Seguin went into the locker room after that hit so there was something there or else why would Chara have attacked the punk who hit Seguin? And then there was the elbow to the head that I thought was diving until I replayed a few times and I actually saw the elbow. The Caps player who threw the elbow was diving after that play and should have gotten 5 + 2 (elbowing and diving). If a guy is going to make a video of teams diving, he should be using clips from the Montreal Olympic Diving team. I know what he was trying to do but he was 50-50 with his clips of "diving".

I think you get this, but the point and the reason that this is funny is that you have him complaining about it in a very strong manner and then have his players falling all over the ice like a bad Euro league soccer team would.

Some of those may have been legitimate falls, but the players sure made them look more spectacular than they needed to.

The embellishing by a select few players is really bad for the game and I do hope they eliminate it. Looking at you Kesler, you *****.

Whether there were a couple plays on there that were real or not, every clip showed is also showing embellishment. Period. They're all trying to draw penalties by being over dramatic.

Re: NHL 2013 - The Lower 48.

I think we all knew Claude Julien was going to catch crap for that.

I'd love to revisit this top if Montreal pulled this crap against the Wild. Heh heh heh...

I think every team has it's fair share of embellishments. It has no place in the game of hockey, but additionally, if the officials fail to enforce it strictly or effectively, why wouldn't a player try and gain a competitive advantage by earning power plays through embellishment? Some cases are worse than others, yes, see Montreal, Vancouver, etc. I also think we need to understand that there is some responsibility that the league and its officials have to call the penalty more effectively. By doing so, this takes away the "competitive advantage" that can be attained, and better yet, reduces the number of acting jobs by the players.

I'm cool with anything that improves this and if the Bruins get screwed by it, shame on them.

Pathetic. Looks just like Vancouver.
The best part...that video is posted by a Vancouver fan. :D

I agree on the Seguin one. The angle in the clip they showed makes it look like a dive, but a different one shows a pretty decent crosscheck to his ribs. So decent Emelin's stick broke.

Marchand's were ridiculous though.

I've been hearing plenty from Sabres fans on how Richards "faked it." :D

Yeah, Richards dove headfirst into the boards risking a career ending injury or worse for a 5 minute power play....

Even Steve Ott asked Richards during the game if he was OK, and called the hit scary...
