Jumping on someone's back and pushing their head to the ice is allowed now, FYI. Being off-side is still a whistle, however.

Hooray, the Sharks won't be the first team eliminated! Thanks Detroit.

Between his time at Maine and Detroit, Jimmy Howard has been in 10 playoff games that finished 1-0 or 2-1. He is 6-4 0.88GAA .951 SV% in those games. Imagine if his teams had a little offense...

Re: NHL 2012: Playoffs! Pick Your Overtime Winners!

OpusBadger takes the early lead in the Bracket Challenge

Half of the 16 posters picked Nashville, while OpusBadger was the only one to pick the series to end in 5 games.

3 posters (Statistics!, Priceless, and UMBlackBear43) have the Blues winning in 5, but 12 posters can pick up points in that series because only 4 people picked the Sharks.

No one picked the Coyotes to win in 5, so the 3 people that did pick the Yotes would all pick up the same number of points if Phoenix finishes it off tonight, but they would help out pardonme, Kepler, and Rimbaud who all picked the Blackhawks in 5.

Re: NHL 2012: Playoffs! Pick Your Overtime Winners!

Question: Is this a changing of the guard season in the Western Conference?

Detroit: Out in 5. San Jose: Down 3-1. Chicago: Down 3-1. Vancouver: Down 3-1. The first three are the 5/6/7 seeds.

The remaining 4 teams would have entered this year's playoffs with one series win post-lockout between the 4.

Per NHL Network ticker:

Raffi Torres: 25 games, effective immediately.

Only ones saying that will be the morons on Let's Go Wings.

It's awfully hard to win games when your offense can't elevate a shot on a goalie who covers post to post when he butterfly's. I present the LA Kings and Quick as exhibit A.

If AHL teams know to elevate, why can't a fu**ing NHL team?

If anything: trade Franzen, Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Etc... :p

In total agreement with you. Howard played pretty darn well, but you can't win if you can't score. That's why the Rangers are struggling with Ottawa.

This is what Jimmy may have to do in order to win.
