Re: NHL 2012: Playoffs! Part II: Boogalooing all the way to the Cup

1) Is he a UFA?

2) When is the lockout going to start? If it's before July 1, all the free-agent talk is irrelevant.

Del Zotto is someone I fear the Wings would take a run at. He's a solid player.

The only thing there is that Del Zotto is an RFA. Historically, Holland doesn't like offer sheets because of the draft pick penalties, and because you're guaranteed to p155 off the management of the other team just for trying to nab their player. However, maybe losing Lidstrom and Stuart would force his hand.

EDIT: That's a good point - when does the CBA expire?

According to Buttman (I swear Drager called him that on NHL Net) talk of a lockout is just speculation.

CBA expires September 15th because hockey is stupid and thinks that having 2 weeks to agree to anything because no one negotiates before expiration is smart.

And that's why the NHL will squander any momentum they've gained because of that utter moron.

Donald Fehr is going to have something to do with this before it's all said and done, too. He's got quite the history of labor stoppages himself. There's gonna be one helluva rockfight over the cap.

Might as well start caring about the AHL, KHL and Swedish Elite League.

I don't think he'll get that back at this point. I do think he'll scream, rant and rave for more revenue sharing. One can't be hopeful since as of a couple months ago, his usual response was still "Oh, I'm still reading up on things, trying to understand where everyone is."

If tonight's game is any indication, this is going to be a HELLUVA series.

Going to kill the announcers if they keep saying shoot high on Quick every two seconds.

Congratulations to pardonme on his victory in the USCHO 2012 NHL Bracket Challenge!

I was going to do a whole post about possible finishes, but since everyone picked the Kings in 6 (well, pretty much), I guess that's about all I need to say.

A funny pick would be Mitchell and Clarkson.
