oops. Salvador goes right and the pass went left.

I first noticed this last year during the playoffs and I don't think I ever mentioned it on here but it's driving me bonkers.

Since when did they start calling it the Stanley Cup Final and not the Finals?

Last I checked they played a best of seven games and not one.

Single series is singular, I'm guessing.

Hmm. I guess. But someone vouch for me that they definitely all used to say Stanley cup finals and this "final" thing is relatively new?

Or maybe this just shows how irrelevant the Rangers have been for the last two decades... :(

I thought it was Finals in the past (dunno how long ago). Maybe someone finally realized the mistake in grammar?

I think The Finals (c) is owned by the NBA. Just like the Final / Frozen Four is owned exclusively by NCAA Division I.

In another worst secret ever, Lidstrom has retired after 20 years of playing.

Glad to see him go out while still playing at a high level, but still a disappointing day for Wings fans.

Still incredible to think he was drafted in the 3rd round, #53 overall in 1989.

In other news, Bob Hartley will coach the Flames.

That leaves Michel Therrien and Marc Crawford as the odds-on favorites for Montreal

Congrats to Lidstrom. I half-thought that he was some prototype cyborg. Guess he's human, after all.

Cheers to Detroit for not letting him follow in the footsteps of Ray Bourque and Larry Robinson (who was still playing when Lidstrom started), playing out his career for some random team.

Kinda like fellow blue-liner Chris Chelios?

Wait, I'm pretty sure that I'm the only one who remembers his two week stint as an Atlanta Thrasher.
