NHL 2012: Playoffs! Part II: Boogalooing all the way to the Cup

Devils/ flyers - I see philly taking this one unless they go down early and (at best) match what NJ puts on the ice. They still have more talent than NJ with Giroux out, but talent has not been the story of this series. I wonder how philly will adjust to deal with the cycle? It has been interesting to see philly attempt and fail at initiating crap after the whistle. They got to crosby and crew, but NJ is ignoring them just like a little kid and it seems to be working.

I finally saw the video, don't get at all why Giroux was suspended. Head hit but nothing particularly violent about it; inconsistent with no discipline for Ovechkin.

Uh-oh. It's looking bad for Philly. The only way the Flyers win this one is if the Devils make an immediate trade for Joel Ward. ;)

The advantage the Rangers have if they get by the Caps is that they've been playing against teams that play Devils-style garbage hockey these last two series. The disadvantage for the rest of us is that the Devils will (surprise surprise) do their utmost to make it entirely unwatchable like they always do. Their anti-hockey ruins a normally exciting sport.

I bet you a certain network is pleased that the Devils are advancing.

If you watched the Shanahan video, a reason he was suspended was because of the hissy fit Giroux was throwing right before he decided to skate down the ice and deliver the hit. Really gives the impression he just wanted to hurt someone because he didn't draw a penalty that wasn't a penalty. But you know, the world hates the Rangers too. So there's that.

With NBC covering The Players, it would appear that any weekend games are going to be in the evening. IF the Caps-Rangers goes 7, then the West final starts Sunday and the East on Monday. If the Caps-Rangers ends Wednesday, then the West goes Saturday and the East goes Sunday.

Makes sense?

You even ***** about the refs on an off day! Amazing from someone who "rarely complains about the officiating." yet 90% of your posts have been just that. Clearly, the rangers are just being screwed all the time, even when they're not playing.

I pray the rangers lose the next two games and ovie scores all the goals. That would be great considering he should be serving a 400 game suspension.

Man, I wish I could close this thread, but alas, there's only the option to delete it.

pardonme moves into first place (13 points up on UMBlackBear43) while Priceless, myself, and KRAPH (Professional Hockey, instead of College Hockey) have failed to register a point yet in the Conference Semis. Personally, I'm rooting for Rangers in 7. Partially to minimize how many people get the bonus 10 points for correctly picking the series to go 6 and partially so I have something to watch while celebrating my birthday here in Buffalo.
