LaDainian Tomlinson cut by the Chargers today.

I heard conversation about this on KFAN yesterday. The thought was that they would be best off trying to get Taylor signed, if they can't get him signed then they would pick up either Westbrook or Tomlinson.

I wouldn't trust Westbrook after two concussions in the same season. Especially with the NFL's new rules on them.

And given PHI's style of offense, I think Westbrook will break down faster than your average star RB, even in another offense.

LT? Haven't followed his injuries much, but it's also something to consider. Besides, MN can't exactly pursue FA's unless they lose one. And unless you can get one of these guys for a lowball figure, why spend that kind of money on these guys (Taylor excluded, as he already knows the offense, is still durable compared to LT/BW)? Get that "second-tier" veteran guy as a fill-in for AP, or take a chance on an up-and-comer.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Westbrook play somewhere but think it is more likely that he won't get offered the money he wants due to the concussions you mention and ends up doing TV in the future. When he was healthy he was fantastic, but he was a guy that rarely played 16 games late in his career...I suspect a team would rather try a 9th round rookie vs. a high priced vet with a low likelihood of playing all year.

I'VE GOT IT!

Field goal shootout. Each FG kicker gets to kick from the 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40. Most made wins. If they tie, sudden death kicks from the 40.

Agreed, that is a terrible format. It almost sounds like they want to use the NCAA OT format but not quite.

Correction, NCAA OT is a three coiler, with a DQ twist and little steam lines coming off of it. Only the NCAA could come up with an OT format that makes it near impossible to determine a winner, which if I'm not mistaken is the entire point of OT.

I've never seen an NCAA OT game end in a tie yet.

Sorry if I didn't articulate that very well. What I was trying to say is because of the format it becomes more difficult to determine a winner than if they just played sudden death.

A bit of action so far since Free Agency opened up.

Ravens trade for Anquan Boldin and 5th round pick. Give up a 3rd and 4th round pick. Also signed him to a 4 year deal.

Bears pick up Free Agents: Julius Peppers (6 yrs), Chester Taylor (4 yrs), and Brandon Manumaleuna (5 yrs).

Big Ben accused of Sexual Assault of a 20 year old college student in Georgia. Questionable whether it will turn into an arrest though, as the details may not warrant enough evidence for police to act on it.
