NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

Look, I’m not a football expert (far from it) but it’s probably not a great idea to hit a guy that may or may not have a foot OOB after your team has already gotten a penalty for ripping a guy’s helmet off.

He moves to hit him well before he’s out, and we’ve all seen RBs tiptoe down the sideline after getting to that edge. Let defense play defense.

Also, Brown’s helmet didn’t come off. In fact, Brown ripped Lattimore’s helmet off and got nothing for it.

Edit: All that said, hang onto the dang ball and none of it happens.

At speed he looked pretty clearly OOB.

"Left foot was down prior to contact," he says as the replay shows it was very much not down.

That was the kind of play that the instant replay system was supposed to prevent.

So was that- thankfully, the eagles didn't score on the 2 point conversion- as that would have been the penalty for the PAT kick.

Actually, the "late hit" should have been overturned, too- the ref analyst was wrong that he was out of bounds when he was hit, as his foot did not touch when the hit was initiated. And intent to go out of bounds should not be a measure- as a good hit may have knocked a fumble back into play before the out of bounds was touched.

Some pretty bad calls against the Commanders. But they need to hold the ball.
