NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

That's like that Dallas tight end who dropped that ball in the end zone all those years ago. Jackie something?

So the possible Super Bowl matchups are...

Kansas City vs. Philadelphia - Yawn. Rematch from just a few years ago. Storylines would essentially be the same, with the added storyline of Eagles trying to get revenge. Worst case scenario of the possibilities. 2/10.

Kansas City vs. Washington - Mahomes vs. Daniels. Current GOAT vs. the best rookie QB of all time? Daniels would also be "returning home." Nearly the entire country would likely be behind the Commanders. 6/10.

Buffalo vs. Philadelphia - Potentially poetic, as a Buffalo loss would mean that the Bills would have at least one Super Bowl loss against every team from the NFC East. Would also mean that Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts would finally break through to win their first title. 5/10.

Buffalo vs. Washington - My preferred matchup. Josh Allen (and Buffalo) finally trying to cross that magical threshold, and going up against the upstart Commanders trying to complete arguably the greatest single-season turnaround in NFL history (and giving hope to every terrible team out there, that it just takes a regime/coach change, coupled with drafting the right QB). 7.5/10.

Also a rematch of SBXXVI, which I followed all season and then got an 105 degree fever the day off and had to go to the hospital and missed the game and had to watch on tape the next day. So I still feel I'm owed it. :P

Just crown Mahommes and KC right now. No one is close to them. Ravens had a chance(if they won) but you can't turn the ball over like they did and expect to win.

Washington did more than just find the right QB. Five of their draft picks this year are in the starting lineup. They also signed a bunch of free agents that are contributing, and helped solidify the offensive line.

I mean, I don't think it was overrated despite making jokes about it.

The Vikings and lions won a combined 29 games. Their winning percentage outside of division was as good as intradivision. you don't win 29 games without being very good. Hell, even the packers only lost one game outside of division play.

they just lost two games. I don't think this means they were overrated.

Lions were decimated with injuries. Somehow they kept winning, but that was not a team ready to play three straight playoff teams.

GB also caught the injury bug. I mean, every team does, but they were out a few key guys to start the game against Philly and then had 6-7 go out during the game. Not to mention it was a 7/2 game, which is 9-1 in favor of the 2 seed since the format expanded.

And for Minnesota, I’ve never seen a fan base so morose about a 14 win team before. I thought they would at least beat the Rams, but here and elsewhere on the interwebs you’d think it was a team on its way to a 7-10 season based on the chatter from Vikings Nation.

Have you met a Minnesota sport fan before? ;)

It's amazing how getting rid of Dan Snyder just changes the whole orientation of the franchise in a shocking small amount of time.

ESPN reporting Ben Johnson to the Bears. This week just can't get over soon enough.

He was going to get that chance. Too bad it’s the bears- not just because of division rivals, but it’s pretty clear the ownership sucks. And lions fans know that bad owners kill HC careers.

His offense worked because the O-Line had 3 1st round, a third round pick and a FA that replaced a third rounder that got paid in LA. The Bears...not so much as Caleb Williams and his 66 sacks tells you.

Good timing, too. Washington has to win the division next season to continue the 20 year streak of a new champion with Dallas going in the toilet.

ESPN is reporting Aaron Glenn will be hired as the Jets next head coach. And, once again, I'm happy that he's getting an opportunity, but bummed that it is for such a mess of an organization. This is not the path for a long HC career in the NFL.

My son sent me this,
Jayden Daniels & Jalen Hurts were born, grew up in life, went to college, became pro athletes, and still made the NFC Championship game before the Dallas Cowboys

Raiders higher Pete Carrol for their head coach.

They clearly see the trend to go with new and young coaching talent as the opposite thing to do. Well, Pete D's kid, at least.
