NFL '24-25- lots of potential, any reality?

So apparently they are supposed to protect the long snapper. Who got 3 guys obliterate him on the way to the block.

They just aren’t supposed to make direct contact on the snapper. The first two who contact him went to shoot the gap and were blocked into him by the guards on each side.

But the reason they were blocked into him is that they were trying to shoot the gap. So they were aiming half at the guard and half at the center.

Actually, the one to the left of the snapper didn't get blocked into him, he moved to go right over the snapper. And seeing the play, the blockers are not moving forward like a run, so they are being directed by the defense rushing. So even if it looks like the are being blocked into the snapper. it's their movement to the center of the play that is forcing that motion.

The NFL and the refs need to decide if they are going to protect the snapper or not. If not, then none of this is a big deal, just run over the smallest guy on the line all day long.

I know that one should be a fan of a team and their success.

But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing the cowboys implode. As most of the talking heads would say would happen based on the off season.

Only 5 times has a QB thrown for at least 3000 yds, 27 TDs, and 5 or fewer INTs after 11 games.

One of them finished with a record of 13-3, one 14-2, one 15-1, one 16-0.

Then there's Joe Burrow and his current 4-7 record.

Jets are panicking. They fired the GM- as if that's the reason the offense is so bad and the defense dropped off a cliff. Unless the owner is blaming him for getting Rogers.

The Cowpies look worse than the Patriots do.
Who’s the first person the media goes to whenever something happens with the Cowboys? The coach? The GM? Nope, it’s always Jerry. Nothing is ever going to change for the Cowboys as long as Jerry is around.

I'm confused. Rogers is still there, but you wrote that they fired the GM.

I mean Jerry is the GM.

It's kind of funny about the situation- lots of the talking heads are suggesting that Deon Sanders should be hired as the coach. But at the same time, others point out Jerry's ego, which probably wont match with Deon's nor his need for control.

But if Jerry thinks he knows best, who am I to say he doesn't. Who isn't fine with the pokes sucking?

Well, the *real* GM has been there all along, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sc_37ga9dWs

What's so funny about this whole thing is how it's progressing. They get Rogers, and everyone thinks they will win the SB. Then he gets hurt and the team sucks except for a pretty amazing defense last year. Rogers comes back, and the offense still sucks really bad, and the D is keeping them in. So naturally, they fire the coach who is responsible for the D. Which has the obvious result that the D really falls off a cliff. And the offense still sucks so they are losing worse. And, of course, that clearly means the GM is at fault now.

How is it that the OC still has a job? They have sucked all along.

But, like the pokes, who am I to question when the Jets suck? (sorry, Russel)

That's a great video. LOL.

The NFL adopted a flex option for Thursday Night Football in 2023. On Friday, the league activated the break-glass option for the first time ever, bumping Browns-Bengals out for Broncos-Chargers.

While there’s no blanket ability for teams that get a Thursday shoulder tap to say no, the Broncos could have. Per the NFL, the league has a policy against giving a team two short-week road games in the same season. The league asked the Broncos if they’d been willing to make the shift and accept a second short-week road game. The Broncos agreed — even though it makes them the first team since the 1926 L.A. Buccaneers to play twice on the road on Thursday after playing on Sunday, via Josh Dubow of the Associated Press.

I like the DAL-WAS clash of jerseys. Were I Washington, I would retire the team name, and just use the city. Or call them the Columbians to p-ss everybody off again.

I have not watched football in years; why does everybody have toilet paper hanging out of their butt?
