NFL 2023-24. Now without Dan Snyder!

Saw the stat that Kelce is like 46 yard without Taylor and over 105 with her in attendance.

My Little Ratface: Courtship is Magic

Did San Fran ignore Purdy holding his helmet after his head got slammed into the ground? I noticed that but didn't think much about it. Folks are bitchin about it now. Of course the NFL really cares about the health of its players.

SF, the Bengals, the NFL watchers, and the third party supposedly watchers. Poor kid. That's ruined more than one career as it was getting going.

BTW, for the NFC Norris- are all the teams conspiring to let the Lions have one year to shut all of us Lions fan up?

We all know Chicago sucks- but watching them- it's 100% about their offensive line. That DII kid could play, but he wasn't given enough time- especially as a rookie. Pretty much the same for the Pack- but it was nice that Aaron went out of his way to poison the Love- somehow convincing the people catching the ball to not. And now that Cousins is out, the resurgence of the Vikings is very much over. They have to win games 7-3 now. Or maybe 6-3.

Even if Cousins did not get injured, the Lions were still the best team in the division. As you already mentioned, the Bears suck. Green Bay sucks too (finally). With Cousins, Minnesota was a slightly above-average team. Detroit is a good team, that could win a playoff game or two. Given the likely other realistic competitors in the NFC (Philadelphia, Dallas, and San Francisco), I'll gladly cheer for the Lions in the Playoffs.

As for the Vikings, the early returns on Hall are not terribly impressive, and coupled with the fact that the passing game is what was keeping the Vikings competitive...I struggle to see much more than 2-3 wins on Minnesota's schedule. Detroit could effectively clinch the NFC North by Thanksgiving. However, it would be somewhat comical if Minnesota managed to eek out enough wins over the soft part of the schedule to stay in the race, and then beat the Lions by 7-3 and 6-3 scores to win the division. But, that won't happen.

And it wouldn't matter if the Vikes weaseled their way into the playoffs. They don't have the horses to win in the playoffs anyway. They are certainly better with Cousins, but I didn't see them having meaningful playoff success even with him.

As typical, you are almost certainly correct. Their only realistic hope would have been for Cousins to get on an absolute heater (think Joe Flacco the last time the Ravens won it) and mix in a lot of luck. That certainly is not a realistic formula for winning a Super Bowl.

You and I noticed the same thing. I also thought after he fumbled to end the game for SF he had a very confused look in his eyes. I'd bet the rent there was at least a mild concussion on that play and even if it was nothing more than a minute or two he was hearing ringing or seeing stars.

I swear to God Carson Wentz was never the same after he took a hard helmet-to-helmet hit in his last playoff game with Philadelphia.

And he almost missed this game due to being in the concussion protocol most of last week.

The Vikings were marginally realistic before the injury (although they have improved with TOs and Flores has worked some magic with the D), but my prevailing thought is they are done, should cut their losses and roll with rhe backup.
