NFL 2023-24. Now without Dan Snyder!

The score was a whole lot closer than the game was. Two turn overs on strong drives (one for a pick 6) and 3/4 FGs that should have had one or two more TDs. Gibbs had 152 running yards compared to 157 total yards for the Raiders.

Had it not been for history, I would have been more comfortable.

There is certainly much the Lions can improve on, but they didn't find a way to Lion the game away. Progress continues. :-)

To celebrate the owners along side of the team, of course. I saw an explanation that it was more for the team until they got to the background... yea, it's for Ford.

We’re talking the old school logo? Was that logo originally tied to Ford in some way when it was originally used? I thought they brought it back since retro alts is the new trend.

I can't remember where the lion part came from, but yes, the stripes were lifted from a Mustang- just take out the third red stripe, and replace the horse with the lion.

As soon as I saw it, I immediately wondered why they took a modified Ford brand logo. Then I realized it.

This is from the Sporting News
Detroit made numerous references to its past ahead of Wednesday's drop. The organization made sure to pay homage to former radio commentator Van Patrick, who called games throughout the 1950s, 1960s and early-1970s. He famously got around town in a 1973 Ford Mustang Shelby Mac 1. The iconic chariot featured heavily in the team's photoshoots. Its symbol is eerily similar to that of the Lions' alternate logo. That was an intentional choice — Detroit modeled its retro look off the Ford Mustang seal.

Apparently the Raiders leadership didn't the the memo that Detroit isn't a horrible team- as they just fired their head coach after losing to the Lions. Why now and not earlier in the season? They got beat badly by a really bad Chicago team.

Mark Davis is a great owner. Sucking money up from Vegas with a really, really bad franchise.

I don't think his team is that bad. Macdaniels is just not cut out to be a head coach.

And I'm beginning to wonder if, just like with Bill, much of his so-called ability is just the fact that he was coaching Brady.

Fired their GM, too.

While it wasn’t the final of the game so it doesn’t count as a scorigami, the MIN-ATL game is the first NFL game to ever have an 11-10 score.

Man, it's frustrating to see the Lions beat themselves. They had multiple stops of the chargers on a long drive only to have penalties extend it. Including a PI on 4th and goal that missed. Terrible.

One that was super unlucky was a roughing the passer when the Dman got his arm inside of the QB's throwing arm, which directed it right to his helmet. A few inches the other way, and his arm would have stayed down and no penalty. Bad luck there.

Crazy second half- D for both teams sucked in the second half and it ended up whoever had the ball last won. Thankfully, that was Detroit.
