NFL 2017: With Dollar Signs in Goodell's Eyes

Re: NFL 2017: With Dollar Signs in Goodell's Eyes

There was a catch in the OAK game that was almost exactly like the PIT game. The OAK refs called it a catch. So, in ONE of those games, the refs got it wrong. Frankly, I don't care which game it was, but there is an inconsistency.

That can be said in every game. PI flagged in one isn't flagged in another. Holding, unsportsmanlike conduct, personal fouls, etc.

There was a play in the Seattle game earlier where it was called exactly the same as the Pittsburgh game. I was listening to the audio and the Seahawks' announcer explained it thoroughly (along with the opinion that it's a terrible rule). It was the first I'd ever heard of it. Then that night boom, it's the most controversial rule since the Tuck Rule.

So I'm pretty sure they got the call right. But I watched the Steelers' play and absent the rule by any possible logical standard that is a touchdown, so the rule has to change. I am betting it does this off season -- again, just as with the Tuck Rule. But as with the latter, it will be too late to prevent evil from triumphing again.

The Patriots are going to win every Super Bowl while Dump is President because we're in hell now and that's what it's like.

So who sitteth at the right hand once the Prince of Darkness is overthrown?

Vikes?

Jets, Browns,or Bills

I'm not sure the Jets get included -- they had their moment.

The other two would certainly indicate a triumph of good. I guess include the Vikes to make it a trinity.

Scratch that: the Lions. How could I forget? Or perhaps that's the point.

The Bills, Browns, and Lions are the holy trinity of virtue unrewarded in the NFL.

there was a NE td earlier this year by cooks against houston that didn't 'survive the ground'. issue is there is no rule. it's up to whomever feels like calling it one way or another, which is fine since that is what happens on the field with joe ref. mookie's over it.

I'd give it to the Browns fans. Browns and Lions won NFL Championships in my lifetime. Bills won the AFL.

Unlike the Lions and Bills, though, Browns fans had their team moved out from under them.

Yeah, but saint and stoic Bud Grant. Four times.

I remember watching this live and thinking, for five minutes, "I just imagined that, right? I just reached right into the story and wrote myself a funny little gag, and I'm asleep, or drunk. Huh. I'm pretty clever."

Ditto. I was thinking: HOW DID THEY GET INTO MY HEAD?

I would like nothing more than to see Barstool get blown into oblivion.

I'd agree. BTW, for those who don't know, the USFL won their case, and were awarded $1. Yes, one single greenback.
