Coach McCarthy's bold strategy of coaching to lose a close game really paid off. From not going for it on 4th and goal on the 1/2 yard line, to the offensive equivalent of the prevent defense (have a lead? **** it away with a freaking designed three-and-out), there was just no drive to win this thing. You can't royally **** up a game like this without terrible execution, of course, but the lack of desire to win started up top.

We had a good season, and it's completely irrational to do anything but be glad we got as far as we did. When I woke up this morning, I told myself that I'd be happy as long as we didn't get blown out. And yet I still want to see heads roll (starting with a certain tight end who shall remain nameless... and probably jobless) and am starting to resign myself to the idea that Rodgers/McCarthy probably won't win another Super Bowl.

Capers should probably go but beyond that, I agree. McCarthy will learn from this.

The game was lost in the first quarter. It could've - should've - been 21-0 after the first, and it would've been game over. Instead they couldn't get three more yards on the first two possessions and it allowed for a scenario where one TD from Seattle game them hope. What looks better? A fake field goal to make it 16-7, or a fake field goal to make it 24-7?

Of course, let us not forget falling down after picking the ball off with a clear lane to at least get into Seattle territory, if not return for a score.

It's been about six hours, and still I am disappoint.

Count me in as one of the few that doesn't hate the Seahawks. I had some family out there (They moved to Boise a few years ago) and Vera's aunt and Uncle lived there for years and are fans.

That said, I really don't care who wins. Not one bit.

Or, they get stuffed on those chances and the fake makes it 10-7.

I don't think the first quarter had anything to do with it. Going conservative against a ridiculously aggressive team is what sealed this.

Hate: Bill B, Carroll.
Not a fan of: Sherman.
Like: Edelman, Beast Mode.
Don't mind: Brady, Wilson.

Toss-up for me.

I wasn't even talking about going for it on 4th down, just about needing to execute in the red zone, especially inside the 5.

Oh well, we had a QB with one leg almost take down what could be the back-to-back SB champs on the road. That's impressive.

I liken this a lot to the US-Portugal game last summer. Before the game if you told everyone it was going to be a draw people would've been happy. But when you tell them it's because Portugal scored in the 95th minute on a defensive blunder, people get mad. Same as today. I think I even posted in this thread that it's great we beat Dallas but we stand no chance in Seattle. I really just wanted a game that was going to stay in single digits. If you had told me beforehand it would end in OT I would think it was one helluva fight and a great way to end the year, especially since they were blown out to start the year in Seattle. But the way it played out, with one of the biggest choke jobs this side of a John L Smith coached Michigan State team, it just sucks. Especially now that the Super Bowl is between Seattle going back-to-back or Tom Brady being the bestest of all timezzz!!!11!!, it really sucks.

It was an arse-whupping in the first half. I think I may have to agree that the fake punt is what turned the tide. After that...man. The Pack choked. Hard. The 2 point conversion....I was slack-jawed at how that happened. Wilson basically said "F it, I'm tossing it up for whoever."

Yeah, Tom Brady winning another Superbowl. Then we'll be subjected to 4 months of debate about how Tom should go out on and retire while he's on top and work on steadily plowing Giselle, or does he come back for another year or even more. Discuss this at the top of the hour, every hour!

Y'all underestimate the power of LeBron.

Lebron's drama of why the Refs aren't just making the other team bow before him will be the topic on the 15's. Every friday they'll switch things up, and Lebron will be the top of the hour, and Brady on the half hour.

Few football plays are as exciting at the "Hail Mary 2pt conversion"
:p

Well, it's not like he had anything to lose.

WEEI saying NFL investigating PATs for deflating game balls, are you kidding me. If true they should forfeit the game and let INDY play in SB.

How does it help you anyway, Brady gets better grip on wet ball? but then so does Luck. Kicker can't kick it as far?
