Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

Ok, speculation time.

Vick has obviously still "got it." What to do with Kolb? Trade him? Keep him?

I think there are a couple teams out there (Buffalo, SF, MN, off the top of my head) that may be interested in Kolb. Or, does Philly sign-n-trade Vick while the hype is hot in the offseason? Same possible teams apply there, too.

I'm thinking of outright dropping Steve Smith (the Carolina one). Crazy?

(2 WR, 1 W/R but can't see myself using a WR in the flex slot unless bad injuries hit; have Calvin Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, Mike Wallace, Smith, and would probably drop him for another WR, Mike Thomas maybe, or for Keiland Williams or Felix Jones, even though I don't really need another RB.)

Trade if possible, of course. If you can't trade, then who will replace him? Will that player have a better chance of cracking your lineup? It's not just what you have, it's what your opponents don't have.

Edit: in my main league, I have ARodg. Cassel is my backup. Never would I drop him. Why? That means someone with a crappy QB would pick him up. And I may face him. Not good. No player right now in FA would crack my lineup, so why bother, you know?

Thank you for explaining the philosophy, this isn't my first time playing fantasy football though so it wasn't really necessary. I was just looking for opinions about whether Smith is useful at all going forward. None of the guys I'm likely to add in FA are likely to crack my lineup, nor is Smith, but one of them might be a better injury fill-in, or might help one of my opponents more than Smith would. :p

I just said what I said because each league is different (due to scoring, philisophical makeup [I'm less likely to drop a player whom I KNOW a vital opponent wants, due to real-team fandom], etc).

He's not useful right now, but with his talent, you never know. If all things are average, drop his arse. Take a flyer on someone.

Being a Bills fan, I'd take a shot at Kolb. However, I'm still drafting Luck if he comes out. It would be nice to have 2 QBs instead of none.

I'd just like to point out that I hate Thursday night football. Mainly because it's on a crappy channel.

Fortunately, it generally involves teams that I have no desire to watch.

No posts on Chi-Mia? That speaks volumes about either the match-up or the NFL network, or both.

Who wants to listen to Matt Millen and Joe Theismann for over 3 hours?

How the hell does Millen have so many jobs? Thursday night football, Sunday night football for at least part of last year, monday night football, inexplicably the ABC pbp for Big Ten games on Saturday which brings him back to Michigan often enough that I'm confused how someone hasn't taken a potshot at him yet.

While he was still with the Lions, everyone seemed to like to say, "He was a really good commentator." Honestly, I can't remember how he was one way or the other, but TV people seem to have a high opinion of him still I guess.

Interesting that the media meme all week was: Don't sleep on Tyler Thigpen! He's going to play really well!

Nice call, media.

It's nearly impossible to take anything he or Mike Milbury says seriously, and yet there they are.

The better team won. :)

Da Bears will be in first place after week 11 regardless of the Viking/Packer outcome.

They need to only go .500 the rest of the way to be in the hunt for a WC or division title. But they have a tough finishing schedule.

Eagles, @Lions, Patriots, @Vikings, Jets, @Packers

Nice that they get 3 of the 4 tough games at home. Looking at it the 3 games I would pick them to win are Lions, Vikings (w/ t-jack), Jets.

I'm happy to report that I was not playing against the Bears' defense in any of my three leagues.

Re: NFL 2010: Now Extended By Two More Posts

LeSean McCoy or Thomas Jones? Both at home and McCoy is obviously a starter that doesn't split time, but he's up against NYG as opposed to ARI who gives up I believe the most FF points in 50/50 leagues.

Vick or Sanchez? Seems like a dumb debate given last week, but again Vick is up against the NYG (yes, I know what Dallas did last week) while the Jets play Houston which has the worst pass defense in the league.

Favre looks happy. Good decision to come back.
