Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

I have to start 3 of Jeremy Maclin (Wash), Fitz (@SD), Ochocinco (@Cle), Collie (@JAX), and Kevin Walter (@Oak)....

jmh: I'd drop the NYG defense just because you should probably do that anyway...:p

I'd keep the Giant defense for one more week. They've got Cutler on Sunday, and he threw about 8 picks last week before GB gave them all back on penalties.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Due to poor drafting, I have too many players on byes this week and can't field a full lineup in one of my leagues. I'm short a tight end. My free agent options include Aaron Hernandez, Tony Moeaki, Jeremy Shockey, Kevin Boss. But to pick one of them up I'd have to either:

A) Drop Josh Scobee and play without a kicker
B) Drop D-NYG and play without a defense (hahaha yes I am already playing without a defense you are so funny to make that joke that has not occurred to me before)
C) Drop Dez Bryant or Jamaal Charles or Thomas Jones or Dexter McCluster and potentially not be able to get them back next week (note that my league gives points for return yards on par with rushing and receiving yards, making Bryant and especially McCluster more useful than they'd be otherwise)

Or of course:

D) Play without a tight end (Witten is my regular tight end so I'm not going to just drop him and pick up a replacement, even though he's off to a slow start)

Thoughts?

Actually I try to concentrate most of my byes in one or two weeks. I can take the major hit one game and be full strength the remainder. Usually works out well. It makes for a very hectic draft though. :D

True, and it would just drive the guy you're going against Bonkers if he has a guy go Buckwild all over somebody when he pretty much had a gimmy game for FF. ;)

Yeah, the final score is usually good for a laugh. This year I had to spread them out over two weeks because of the players available in the early rounds.

how many teams are in your league? you shouldnt have scobee and nyg-def to begin with! i'd drop mccluster - i'm in pretty deep leagues and he is usually available other than in the leagues i have him. just not consistent enough to start anyway.. him and bryant are only good for the return yards basically, so in that regard they are the same player and you would almost never start them both in the same week anyway. choose the one you value more and let go of the other one.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

I wonder how long my fantasy team will keep rolling like this...I can't keep averaging 130 point/week, right? (the USCHO yahoo league)

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Since we don't have an Australian Football League thread... the final is showing on ESPN2 right now and one of the teams has a Brad Dick, a Tyson Goldsack and a Steele Sidebottom playing.

If I ever need a porn name, I'm scanning these rosters.

Loving that the Bills are in the old school jerseys. It's still like putting lipstick on a pig, though. :D

I wasn't pickin on Sarah Palin. :D

Maybe the Bills should wear pink because they are playing a bunch of princesses on D. Already down 7-0 thanks to LT. Maybe they ought to let the Sabres attempt to play this game. They might do better.
