Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Calvin Johnson using one hand is not the problem. The officials refusing to use common sense is the problem.

Common sense is something a lot of NFL officials are lacking. :D Although, they have more sense than the Bills play callers on that last possession. Why did they not go for it? The only thing Chan Gailey did was make sure Miami covered instead of getting a push. I wonder if he had money on the game.

They did their job. They properly enforced the rule. It's not their fault the rule is horrible, but officials just can't deviate from the rules as they see fit.

There's a sport that already does that. It's called soccer...and we all know how well that works out.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Sure they can. They deviate from the rules every week with their incompetence.

I kind of agree with you, but I'd argue they weren't really enforcing the spirit of the rule either. Which is totally the officials job I think.

True, but that's different that doing it with intent.

It does suck, though. That rule needs to be looked at. That should be a touchdown.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

I just saw the replay, whats the rule? He certainly had possession of the ball, so why wasn't it a catch? Because it hit the ground?

We aren't sure the exact rule since the NFL doesn't put their current rulebook online.

Something about completing the process of a catch.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

So we're going to see this rule enforced when a player spikes the ball right? :)

Why the hell doesn't the NFL publish their rule book. I can't think of ANY sport that doesn't publish theirs.

It's published if you want to pay $9.95 for it at a bookstore.

They supply a "digest" version on their website. But its super basic.

THat's the most ridiculous money grab I've seen in a long time. I guess i'm not surprised though... One more reason to support torrenting :p

They also charge (or at least, they did) for audio from the local radio stations broadcasting the games. I used to love listening to games not in my market/on tv using nfl/dot/com and the radio feed. :(

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Ugh that's a nasty looking injury the Eagles just sustained. Gotta love slow-mo replays of a leg bending the wrong way.

Yeah, the MLB used to do that too... Not so much anymore.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

Leo Weaver dunzo. Didn't even show the replay, because the injury was that bad. Leg went backwards, I guess.

Re: NFL 2010 - Cap & Trade

What happened? Redzone wouldn't show the replay, but they said it was "gruesome."
