Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

Color me shocked stupid. I was convinced they would find a way to lose it in the last four minutes.

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

So they get to avoid losing until the Title game to Matty Ice?
If they make the NFC Title game that would be 3 playoff rounds farther than anyone had them going to start the year.

People had them finishing 3rd in the North, maybe 4th.

What in the hell was that by the Eagles?

Props to the Vikings for coming out and giving a good effort after it looked like they'd fully mailed it in for the season. Amazing what a difference inspired QB play can make.

Samuel isn't terribly bright. It is probably from dishing out hits like that.

This is his second vicious hit like that in only a few months. I hope the NFL suspends his *** for a few games and fines him back into the stone age. He obviously didn't learn the first time.

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

I'm not even joking. $100k fine and a two-game suspension will probably get it through his thick skull that you cannot lead with your helmet into another helmet. Let the union fight it. Screw 'em.

I like baseball everyday of the week, why would you not want football everyday if you are an actual fan?

Think of the Players, Man!!
It would be really tough to get ready for a Sunday game after playing a Tuesday game, I would think.

It's terribly stupid to be leading with the helmet yet again, but he's a whole 6 inches shorter than Sidney Rice and might have connected with his chest if Rice hadn't also lowered his helmet at the last second.

Still, Asante frustrates me in so many ways, really boneheaded there.

And yet he still managed to lead with his helmet and hit Rice in his helmet. Rice didn't lower his head at the last second. It was lower than when Rice is standing straight up but still a bit higher than Samuel's helmet. He's a cheap player and a headhunter and should be treated as such by the league office.

Honestly, and this has nothing to do with him playing the vikes, he should NOT be hitting someone while leading with his helmet in an upward motion. This is an easy concept and apparently he's either extremely generous and wants to give his money to the retired players fund or he's an idiot. I'm leaning towards the second.

Jay Glazer reports that Favre will be fined but not suspended for the Sterger incident.

Seattle gets the "night" (5:20?) game in their quest to make history. This could be our finest moment on national TV not involving Efren Herrera.

Re: NFL 2010: $25K Fine For Talking About Fines

This years playoff field seems strange to me. As of right now:

NFC

1) Atlanta

2) Chicago

6) Green Bay/New York Giants/Tampa Bay
3) Philadelphia

5) New Orleans
4) St. Louis/Seattle

AFC

1) New England

2) Pittsburgh

6) New York Jets
3) Kansas City

5) Baltimore
4) Indianapolis/Jacksonville

Brian Cuban beating the crowd to the punch:
Goodell looked at Farve's "johnson" and decided it was not that big a deal..

The football game did pretty well.

Code:

8:00	NBC	Sunday Night Football: Vikings at Eagles	6.7/20	20.71
	CBS	NCIS (R)	2.0/6	10.59
	FOX	Glee (R)	1.3/4	4.08
	ABC	Rudolph’s Shiny New Year	1.2/3	3.99
	CW	One Tree Hill (R)	0.3/1	0.93

9:00	NBC	Sunday Night Football: Vikings at Eagles	7.6/20	22.18

For comparison, the Green Bay-New England Sunday night game from the week before averaged just over 1M fewer viewers.
