Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Green Bay wins, good game

CONRATS TO THE PACKERS!!! hope you lose next week;)
Ciskie had a classic "Ding dong the Pack is dead" post on Facebook. Nice to see you two reverse the jinx.

What's the current record for points scored in a playoff game?
Pretty sure it's 96, set way back in January of 2010, when the Packers came back against the Cardinals to tie the game at 45 and force OT. ;)

I can't stand Minnesota pro sports. Name a pro Minnesota sport... they all suck.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

The refs missed the helmet lead on the holding call play and a facemask on the guy who hit Rodgers that would have negated the pick fumble I think, although the timing would have been close, but with the atrocious defense and Rogers' inability to deal with pressure, there's blame to go around on this stinker.

If Rogers hadn't intentionally kicked the ball it would have fallen on the ground, Arizona would have recovered, it would have been reviewed and I think we would have had Tuck Rule #2.
He made a throwing motion, changed his mind when he saw the rusher and didn't have the ball tucked when he was hit...tuck rule. BUT, he kicked it up in the air, thus it was either a fumble or an interception, game over.

I was surprised they didn't call the hit on the previous play. He would have had to throw the hat since he had already thrown his flag for the hold.

While I wouldn't bet my house on the Cowboys winning next week, neither would I bet it on the Vikings. Dallas is playing some pretty good ball as of late.
I think the difference will be that the game is played at the big inflatable, not JerryWorld. I'd pick the Vikings in a close game.

I'd be offended if it weren't true.

I'm almost curious to see what kind of a joke would ensue if/when 2108 comes around and the Cubs still haven't won. At the pace the Cubs are headed, it's a possibility. Unfortunately I don't like my odds of surviving to 2108. :D

I'm gonna go with a darkhorse key to the game: Thunderc*k. If Shiancoe has a big game (as in key 3rd down catches, momentum-changing catches, not necessarily 100+ yds, etc), I think Dallas falls.

Spoken like a true Vikings fan (in other words, someone without a lot of common sense).

I'd tell you that he's a moron, but it's unnecessary when I instead tell you he's a Packers fan.

btw - Brett Favre says, "Holla Green Bay!".

I wonder how much fun the prisoners in Iraq that are being watched by those cheeseheads are having today.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

What the heck happened to the field goal kicking? You somewhat expect it in college, but in 4 games, kickers missed 5 field goals, 4 of which were under 50 yards.
