Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

The Packers need a new quarterback.

Someone who has been in this situation plenty of times before.

A real gunslinger.

Someone who plays the game like a big kid, and just has fun out there.

Well it's good to see that the Pack are sucking it up early in the game. Hopefully this means they've got time to come back and win it :)

What a terrible 1st quarter. Well, for my team anyways lol

Here's to a better 2nd quarter and 2nd half!

Btw, that PF on Green Bay on their kick-off return? Complete bs. The ref who threw it had no view of the fact that he got shoved because he kept on hitting the guy IN THE FACE.

If anything it should have been matching penalties.

So, a "horse collar" is now anytime you grab the back of the jersey up near the neck? Isn't it supposed to be hand inside the pads (not even just the jersey), and pulling the guy backwards? Is consistent reffing too much to ask for?

TMQ was the guy who kept asking for the horse collar penalty, but the big problem is refs don't know what a horsecollar penalty even looks like! Any time the hand looks close to going inside the jersey, penalty. One time the guy just put his hand on the collar and tackled the guy. Didn't put his hand inside the jersey, nothing: just a great tackle.

In theory, having the penalty on the books is a great thing, protecting players from dangerous tackles. However, refs were already bad at the judgment calls to begin with and making them make those quick snap analysis of something new? Brutal.

Wow, this is like an offensive PI clinic. And a how to tackle a defender into your QB and get it called as a PF against you!
