Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

If the Eagles don't quickly figure out a way to play third-down defense, they're going to give up high-30s tonight. They're solid on first and second but can't get off the field and are way too reliant on blitzing.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

so i've got to get past the ariz/gb winner next weekend..... not sure how i feel about that (though better than having to play the cowboys again without at least a win under their belts.)

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

56+ minutes before Collinsworth suggests that Favre should be in the running for MVP. I'm impressed he held out that long.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

I've got Bengals and Eagles with wins today. I know that's probably the opposite of what most people will pick.

Any predictions for Sunday's games? :p

And it seems that old line about how tough it is to beat a team 3 times in one season takes a hit once again.

No kidding. At least I only put money on the over 34.5 for the Bungles game. :)

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

The best part was Michaels informing him that Peyton Manning already won it.

Maybe I heard it wrong, but I heard this:

Michaels: Peyton wins the MVP, by the way.
Dumb*: I guess that takes Favre out of the running, huh?

Unless I missed an intro line in there somewhere, it sounded like Dumb* was taking a shot at the BrettFavre Hype Machine that is the media.

Right, and because people win the lottery that makes it a good investment for everyone.

You missed a line.

They were talking about the Vikings, and Collinsworth mentioned that Favre should be in the running for the MVP. Then the above exchange happened. Try to follow along. :p

Thanks for the info. I was flipping between a couple hockey games and the NFL game, hence the omission. :p

Maybe first Collinsworth should do the same on most Sunday nights.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Packers and Patriots win today. Write it down, I am never wrong! ;) :D

I think the media will rig the game so the Packers win and allow them to have a 6-hour Favregasm.

ETA: Never mind, can't happen thanks to the Cowboys.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #3: The Quest for Perfection

Baltimore seems to be trying to win this game. A TD on first play from scrimmage and now a NE turnover.

I think the media will rig the game so the Packers win and allow them to have a 6-hour Favregasm.

If they were smart they would of rigged both the Eagles and Packers wins so that Favre plays them next week.
