FYI, "The Legend of Jimmy the Greek" is airing right now on ESPN on the East Coast.

I want to see that. Forgot it was on tonight.

And nowadays, could anyone be on national tv with a name like that? I would have to think that the PC Police would be all over it.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

I just got offered Jeremy Maclin and Kevin Walter for Steve Slaton and Ryan Moats. After laughing in the guy's face, I'm preparing to make a counter-offer. Am I going to get laughed at back if I ask for Randy Moss and Marshawn Lynch? What if, instead of Lynch, I ask for LeSean McCoy or Mike Bell?

The offer you got is terrible.

Your offers are laughable as well. If he accepts them, expect a veto.

Moss is worth both Slaton and Moats. Why would he give you Moss AND another rusher starter for two guys that split carries?

Try and explain the rationale behind someone who would trade one of the best WRs in the league and a starting RB for two non-starting RBs.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

moss is worth more than slaton and moats, you wouldnt even start them in the same week; and obviously moss is better than each player individually. that said, i dont think the first trade offer is bad at all. i would take maclin and walter over slaton and a backup.

then again my team sucks because i drafted mcfadden and moreno

Really? Slaton alone has been worth more points so far this season than Maclin and Walter combined; I don't see how he isn't by far the best player in the trade.

Slaton just got benched and Moats and he split the carries. Lets not look at what he's done so far this season but what he's projected for the rest of the season.

That said, the offer you got stunk, but your theoretical offer is even worse.

If you can get Maclin and McCoy out of him for the two Texans, you'd be doing well. D. Jackson (who I have) is attracting double coverage, and Westbrook is a broken player these days. And unless you're starting Moats AND Slaton every week, you're not going to get the total output of a Texans running game that is average at best.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

Alright I'm in a keeper league where we keep four players.

My four keepers are without a doubt probably going to be Ray Rice, AP, Rivers, and Wayne.

I got offered Anquan Boldin for a second round pick (so in a normal draft a 6th round pick once the four keepers are out of the way)

we have a flex spot in our league that I've normally been starting McCoy/Westbrook in and my second WR is DeSean Jackson who is hit or miss every week.

The Cardinals schedule is one of the easiest in the league down the stretch, especially during the playoffs.

Should i make this trade and go for broke to try and win this year?

Or not even worry about it and keep my current roster?

walter was hurt and maclin is a rookie improving each week. slaton seems to have peaked and maybe even gotten benched/split carries.

I'm aware of that, but Slaton is a better all-around player and Moats was terrible as the starter this past weekend. Slaton will likely be the starter again after Houston's bye this weekend.

What I'm saying is, there is a lot of uncertainty with Slaton going forward. I don't think anyone should be trying to trade for him right now.

I have him and am thanking the stars that Parker and Westbrook are hurt (as I planned on them being, when I drafted Mendenhall and McCoy. I don't even want to HAVE to start Slaton.

I picked up McCoy fifteen minutes before the Saints game and put him on the bench. He's been a regular ever since (with the exception of the Bucs game). Working out well with Portis having a craptastic season.

Re: NFL 2009 Thread #2

So NFL Network got cold feet at the last minute and realized no one would take Matt Millen seriously, so they cut the connection to the announcer's booth? They didn't say a word for 15 minutes.
