Not sure if you're saying that Mikesch didn't pursue Blake, but if so, then you would be incorrect. I recall him being discussed as a possible recruit 2 years ago, but indications were that Pietila was strongly considering going to the ohl instead.
some background.
Here were some of Blake's comments at the time of his commit to NMU:
The idea that Chad and I can practice and play together for two years was a huge part of the decision,” Pietila said. “The coaching staff also played a huge role in my decision.
Both these decision points have changed since.

Speaking of which, what should I be packing in my boot for the game Saturday night? I have Elmer T. Lee, Evan Williams Single Barrel Reserve, Basil Haydens, Makers Mark and I can't think of the others...Also, considering sleeping in the back of my truck in the parking lot Saturday night, to save money.

Makers, obviously

The Miner Cup is tomorrow, and from the looks of the weather reports, you should dress warm for the annual clash of MTU and NMU on the frozen tundra of Sherman field. Or, like this clever engineer, bring a portable heater to keep oneself warm. ;)

It's the first hockey Friday in eons, and you're all letting some knucklehead talk about football?

You knuckleheads had let the page slip to page 3. :p

Also, was just announce that Phil Milbrath is up for the Harlon Hill award, and just made it thru the first round of nominations. Tech manages to make the playoffs somehow, and he would have a decent shot at it I think. Its pretty wide open this year since the preseason favorate, Issac Odim of UMD, blew his knee out and is done for the year and his career at UMD.

I'm not even going to bother reading whatever "Tech sucks" dribble Buckentine has come up with this week.

I just couldn't resist. I love his one-sentence analysis; it's like he doesn't even try.

MEg has been informed. There will be signs. And chants. The consequences will never be the same.

Somewhere, MNS just scored.

Why? Because Tech was absorbing all of the fail in the known universe.

Re: "Next Year" Begins Now: Michigan Tech 2010-11 Season Thread Part I

no. no we didn't fail. we played (almost) two periods of really good hockey. then got totally outplayed in the third. we still look better than last year.

(and, hey, it only took one beer to maintain this optomistic attitude)
