Successful rehab start last night for Pettitte in Trenton. He flew to Texas after to rejoin the Yanks. He may or may not make a second rehab start before going back into teh rotation. That will be decided in the next few days.

Yankees and Texas are in the 12th. Mo just pitched his second and... Gaudin is warming up. Let's hope for about 8 runs here.

And Chad Moeller gets a double to lead off the inning.

Gardner gets him over to 3rd on a bunt, but then Jeter and Collins can't get him home. Headed to bot 12, Gaudin coming out to throw BP.

Hm, 1-2-3 12th, headed to 13.

Moeller leaves the bases loaded in the 13th. The Yankees have left 29! men on base tonight. Unreal.

Gaudin serves up a long walk off homer to Nelson Cruz to start the bot 13th to RF. Not gonna win many games leaving 29 men on base.

Sheesh, 8 straight wins followed by 6 losses in the next 7. Broomed in Texas with a couple of bullpen meltdowns and a healthy dose of Cliff Lee. Texeira bookending the season with a lousy April and now September. A-Rod apparently can't play more than 3 or 4 consecutive games, catchers who can't throw out a base stealer, Jeter in a deepfreeze, Gardner out again, Granderson reverting to form - and now headed to St. Pete. And oh yeah, still in first place.

No longer in first place either. Talk about a slump. This is very painful. Isn't going to be easy winning the division. Could easily be determined by the last couple of games in the season.

Yep. 6 against TB and 6 against Boston left, plus whoever else on the schedule. There will be tons of flip-flopping, and its a shame that one of these teams will be the #4 in the AL.

Back in 1st, barely and Hughes on the hill tonight in the rubber match. Good news on Pettitte, he will pitch on Sunday for the Yanks.

Those first two games with TB were epic. Lee and Price back to back. Ouch. :eek:

Damm, 2 bad pitches from Hughes all night. Gotta get some more runs to pull this one out.

You could see Jeter laughing behind the ump when the call was made. Jeter for best actor and Gene Monahan for best supporting actor. :D

girardi is a dope.. why take out berkman and then leave kearns and curtis in to bat. awful decision.

Nice to see a below average player in Dan Johnson hit some memorable home runs. Especially when he is from Coon Rapids :)

Game's not over yet but the Yankee OF without Gardner and Swisher is killing them in terms of production. Kearns K'd 4 times last night and 3 tonight. He and Curtis have left 10 men on combined tonight alone. It would have been nice to have seen Joba start the 7th based on how he's pitched last night and tonight. Funny how clear 20/20 hindsight can be. :(

Johnson may be from Coon Rapids, but he went to Blaine. In other words, he can burn.
