no? ok..

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Wow, what a comeback tonight against the Rangers. CC didn't have it but the bullpen didn't give an inch til the Yanks got the bats rolling. Took the wind right out of the Rangers sails and CC got off the hook. Big Phil tomorrow afternoon in Game 2.

is that a legit call? if the ball bounces and hits a batter he still gets first base?

Yeah....in other news, this umpire has a weird strike zone, there's been a couple of pitches that were no where near the plate and were called strikes.

Hughes looked bad today.

And, continuing the year of tragic losses of Yankee legends...

Freddie "Sez" passed away this morning after collapsing at his senior care home Friday. Definitely a legend amongst fans.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Really think Girardi should've started Petite in Game 2. Andy doesn't lose those types of games on the road. Hughes is a better pitcher at home, but pitching anyone against Lee is a tall order.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Obviously neither CC or Hughes looked at all sharp after the long layoff. Oddly, the bullpen didn't seem to suffer any in that regard. I'm trekking down tomorrow. Should be an awesome atmosphere, AP needs to come up huge again, as usual. As far as Lee is concerned let's beat him up then sign him up. ;)

Yep, my kids got to hit his pan with the spoon on several occasions.

I would much rather have Andy's experience and poise against Lee than Hughes.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

hughes' stats are better on the road anyway. anyone with google could figure that out.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

I've been to a lot of games at the Stadiums, old and new, and I can't remember an opposing pitcher dominating the Yankees to the extent that Lee did last night particularly in a playoff setting. AP's own game was pretty impressive, with just that one mistake to Hamilton. :(

If Tex is out for the series, this is the sound of the Yankees...

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

I don't know why everyone would be upset by the homer off of Burnett there. He only missed his location by two feet.....

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

The Yanks were taken to the woodshed by the Rangers who outplayed them in every aspect of the game. :( Plenty of time to think about next year now, but to me it looked like the last two months of the season they went from being a veteran team, to an old team.

Posada is way way over the hill. His lack of offensive production is now unacceptable when juxtaposed with his defensive ineptitude. Jeter's season this year barring a major and seemingly unlikely bounceback will probably be seen as the beginning of the inexorable erosion of his productiveness. Mariano though still amongst the best can't go on forever. Andy is a warrior who could be back again next year, but may be showing the wear and tear that comes with 15 plus years of competing at this level. A Rod though he had a productive season, reverted to his pre 2009 post season ineptitude, and he is likely starting to age out as well. I guess this means Cashman will be digging deep into the coffers to reload beginning with the starting pitching. It should be another captivating offseason.
