New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

This has happened in several games, so I can't think it's a coincidence. For Nick Johnson's first AB of the game, his intro music is "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus.

I sense there's a story there...

It's his daughters favorite song. Or atleast thats what we've been told;)

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

taking 2/3 from BOS, TB and LAA to start the season... LOVE IT, especially considering the slow starts this team has been prone to the past couple of seasons

The Yanks have taken the first 4 series (add Texas) of the season since 1926. The days of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Also, Posada has joined Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra and Thurman Munson with 1500 hits. :) Great start to a long season.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Hopefully Javy can get on track tonight. Late night baseball coming up.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Edwar Ramirez with 3 walks in an inning.

My oh my this looks familar...

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Hughes with a no-no broken up to start the 8th inning on a single off his arm that he couldn't find after. 7.1 IP, 1h, 2 BB, 1ER, 10k. I think we'll all agree that is a solid start from your 5th pitcher.:D

If he keeps pitching like last night, Javy will be the 5th starter. :D

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Six wins in a row, 9 wins in the last 10, 11-3 record (best in baseball), and two starters have taken no-hitters deep into games before May. Yes, I approve of the way this season has started off.

Oh, and it all happened with Mark Teixeira only going yard for the first time LAST NIGHT. That's awesomeness.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Everyone must be at work since no one commented on the 5-4-3 triple play turned by the Yankees in the bottom of the 6th inning. :D

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

In the Yankees' clubhouse, A-Rod professed surprise at Braden's remarks. "He just told me to get off his mound,'' Rodriguez said. "I thought it was pretty funny, actually. I'd never quite heard that before, especially from a guy with a handful of wins in his career.''

Responded Braden: "I don't even have a handful of wins. I only have three. Do the math, A-Rod."

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

So who is in the wrong? Rodriguez or Braden? Maybe it's the bias, but I really feel like Braden overreacted a little bit here.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

I've never heard of a pitcher getting upset about a player running over the mound, but I was never a pitcher so maybe it's a real thing. I guess I can understand why Braden was piissed during the game; emotions were high, and he took out some cups back in the dugout. I was surprised by his postgame interview however; he was calm but still annoyed, talking about how it was "his rubber" and how there would be "repercussions", presumably if ARod did this again. I thought Braden overreacted but maybe that's a pitcher thing, I dunno.

No name pitcher wants to be famous, tries to look like a badass against one of the biggest names in the sport. Nothing to see here.

A Rod can be Lightning Rod...see McDonald infield popup, the Boston knock the ball out of the glove incident, and now this.

Need to win the next two to keep the winning series streak intact. That Texeira - Wilson collision was brutal. I think it's easy to overlook how big some of these Yankees are. They are some big boys solid bodies out there.

And what is John McDonald known for today? Being duped by A-Rod.

I was taught in little league to not run over the pitcher's mound. Tell me in all the years you've watched baseball you've even noticed someone running on the mound after an out? Maybe its different for other people but when I heard I just thought it was just A-Rod being A-Rod, trying to get underneath the guy's skin and it worked.

It doesn't matter if it was a nobody, in fact its probably why A-Rod did it.

Re: New York Yankees: Order Has Been Restored To The Universe

Solid win last night after a blip the night before. Happy with the team's start. Is it time to flip-flop Hughes and Javy in the rotation? Tex, only 2 days til May.
