New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

What's going on? First the Mets are winning games, then they are actually beating the Braves. I am confused.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Not only that, but Pelf pitched out of jams. And struck out people. And didn't nibble.

I don't even know this team anymore... :)

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

Would be nice if batters not named Wright or Murphy could hit with runners in scoring position.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

I texted a few of my buddies following Monday night's win over the Braves, "Can we just play Atlanta every game this season?"

and then last night happened to make me eat crow with Johan getting blasted and not making it out of the second inning.

An inning for the ages tonight at Coors. We make 4 errors en route to Colorado scoring 11 runs (ties the Mets records for both) in the 5th, beating us 18-9.

Line score for the game:

Mets 9 17 6
Col 18 19 1

Scott Hairston becomes the tenth Met to hit for the cycle.

Is there such thing as fielding for the cycle? Muff a ground ball, Muff a pop, Throw one away, and ????

I love Cap'n Kirk but he came pretty close when the Giants were in town. On one play he misplayed the fly going back, reached out and had it go off his glove, then dropped it when he tried to rush picking it up. His throw in was good, but if it had missed the cutoff I'd say that would have been the equivalent of touching em all.

Last night had enough highlights to last half the season.

Re: New York Mets 2012: Fight the Future

This team keeps fighting...

Gotta tip your cap to that.

BTW- Love the new "old school" NY jackets this year.

The blue is also a shade bluer, which is traditional, and the black unis are almost phased out -- they are only wearing them a couple times a month.

It is a year of sartorial splendor for the Metsies.

I love the fact we have gone the road grey's again with New York on the chest. Much sharper look.

Actually, I think there's no black whatsoever. So the black is trashed, and the Mets are winning. I think Paul Lukas and Howie Rose see the connection.

I was skeptical of the new black-less road jerseys at first. I didn't like the 97 version. But these are growing on me now. Don't know why.

Can someone tell SNY to stop using black as the Mets' default color, though?

Let's sweep tonight!
